The 2022 floods in Balochistan province have caused widespread damage to agriculture,
infrastructure, healthcare, and education sectors, severely impacting the local economy
and livelihoods.
“Over 255,000 housing units damaged or destroyed,
including close to 69,000 completely destroyed and more
than 120,000 partially damaged. Additionally, 2,222 km
of roads and 43 bridges were damaged, disrupting access
to services for people. Furthermore, 456 flood protection
and irrigation schemes were partially or fully damaged,
including 367 water supply and 89 sanitation schemes.”
