Accident Report
At 1:00 pm on the 20th of September, 2022 an accident occurred. This accident took place at the
Foga Road High School workshop where there was some furniture under construction. In this
accident, Eric Garwood was injured from cutting his hand on a table saw, his injury was severe.
This accident was reported by Glenroy Brown and through his observation it seems that the
ground beneath had torn clothes, most likely loose clothing that caused this accident. The
emergency services were called immediately after the accident occurred and in the meanwhile
waiting Eric was bandaged up unluckily he had to go through something like that he was
unconscious from the excess blood loss. When the paramedics arrived they did a proper
evaluation of his condition and determined that his life was in no danger. I think to prevent an
accident like this from occurring again, the workers should make sure their PPE is properly
suitted.
Business plan
The name of our company is called Max’s Woodsware. We are a large corporation with the
purpose of our business being to supply goods to the construction industry. Our business has been around
since 2004. We currently have 4 managers overseeing other areas of our business and they are Tyler
Smith, Omario White, Gusta Fring, and Jesse Pinkman. As a business owner, I have 25 years of overall
experience. Some examples of products that we sell are wood lumber, Hardware, Electric wiring,
electronic tools, cement, gravel, sand, etc. We are also considering expanding our stock of products to sell
soon. The research that we have done for our business has been done through surveyors and consultants.
Our Company supplies a niche market in our region. We have no relevant competition in our
region as most have joined under us as it was the more profitable option. No local or national competitors
pose much of a threat to our company. The regional competition such as Home Depot and Amazon are
dormant in terms of trying to take over the market we mainly supply to. There seems to be a higher
demand for hardwood lumber compared to perforated wood lumber. There is a high chance we shall
expand our company even more throughout the Caribbean and eventually other regions. Most of the
customers range from contractors to homeowners to construction workers.
Some of the prices of my items are Lumber- $500.00 per thousand board feet, Pvc pipes-
$100.00-$300.00 per bundle based on size of the pipes, Electric power tools- $70.00-$200.00, Electrical
wire- $150-$210.00. The locations of some of the places where our products are sold are; San Juan in
Puerto Rico, St. John’s in Antigua, Port of Spain in Trinidad, Basseterre in Saint Kitts, and Bridgetown in
Barbados. We promote our products and services via advertisements on billboards along with social
media such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. One of the main advantages of buying from our
establishment is that we are the main distributors of the products we sell in our region as well as
providing cheap affordable prices. We distribute our products through our large business chain. We
collect feedback from our customers via the company hotline, surveys as well as our company websites
where customers regularly leave comments on issues they have.
Our main headquarters is located at 410 Terry Ave N, Puerto Rico. Our other facilities are located
throughout the Caribbean which are: Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago,
Dominica and Barbados. Our experiences involved in business have been through working for our family
company. We plan on expanding our company more throughout the Caribbean and after doing so, to other
regions. My involvement as the Owners of the company is managing the CEOs of each branch in our
company, those branches being: Lumber and Hardware, Sales and Finance, Suppliers and Export/Import,
and our Human Resources branch.
Special equipment used by our company is Industrial grade wood cutting and processing machinery made
and supplied by Bezner-Oswald and various heavy machinery(Tractors, Backhoes, Trucks, etc) supplied
by CAT.
Employees that would be needed if our company needed new employees would be managers, heavy
machinery operators, and cashiers.
Employees are recruited through job interviews, advertisements, and internships. Our lumber and
hardwood are made and processed through our company and our tools and hardware are supplied from
Milwaukee Tools and our wires are processed in our company. Our cement, gravel, and sand are all
sourced from our local quarry. Some benefits employees get are up to 3 weeks vacation and medical
benefits better offers on store-bought goods.
