The engagement in a significant project was an unparalleled and enriching experience for
me, breaking away from my usual solo work preference. This collaboration became a
knowledge journey into the realm of contagious diseases and the myriad challenges
encountered from diverse perspectives. Simultaneously, it acted as a catalyst for honing
indispensable teamwork skills, conflict resolution techniques, and refining my work
processes for heightened task completion efficiency.
Our team, a quartet from a tightly-knit, compact class, shared an inherent familiarity that
birthed a seamless working dynamic. This familiarity fostered open, nearly conversational
discussions, paving the way for the unrestricted flow of numerous pertinent and innovative
ideas. This dynamic proved instrumental in yielding a remarkably superior overall outcome.
While remote and in-person collaboration was requisite for the project, the competence of
my teammates was occasionally shadowed by a slower pace of work. My meticulous and
assertive nature sometimes triggered disagreements within the team, but with time, I
evolved to become more receptive to others' opinions through constructive discussions.
On the positive side, my flexibility with time, albeit occasionally veering into moments of
laxity, allowed me to maintain progress actively. Impelled by my prompt work completion, I
undertook the role of reminding everyone to meet deadlines and extended support by
drafting content on their behalf in case of illness or inability to contribute. Organizing tasks,
distributing responsibilities, and setting reasonable deadlines weren't my forte, but my
teammate Safi Ullah excelled in these areas. Despite this, adherence to deadlines was not
consistently observed.
Our mission was to raise awareness about the repercussions of contagious diseases,
demanding a presentation with credible evidence presented in a simple and accessible
manner. Success in this aspect was evident as our presentation incorporated a wealth of
information from diverse viewpoints, communicated through clear language.
Furthermore, our visually captivating and user-friendly presentation likely succeeded in
capturing the audience's interest.
However, an acknowledgment surfaced regarding the brevity of our presentation
content, potentially hindering a complete understanding of our main message. Numerous
questions were received, limiting our outreach. Reflecting on this, I recognized the
potential enhancement through the incorporation of more graphics and possibly videos,
enabling a more captivating presentation and expeditious conveyance of our message.
To counter potential overwhelm with my research share, I adopted a regular work routine,
steering clear of procrastination, and comfortably meeting deadlines. However, instances of
considerable lag surfaced to the extent that blame was directed towards me for surpassing
deadlines. During the design phase, I proactively sought feedback from others, aiming to
grasp effective audience engagement strategies.
On the flip side, my work tendency leaned towards sporadic bursts rather than sustained
periods, leading to unnecessary time wastage. A more focused approach with extended,
uninterrupted work sessions could have ushered in greater efficiency.
Throughout my research, a revelation emerged concerning the pivotal role of inequality as
a root cause of contagious diseases. The perspective of those perpetuating inequality
perceived it as a means of control, while those at the receiving end, particularly those at
the bottom, underwent immense suffering, losing faith in life's opportunities and becoming
estranged from their communities. This stark reality underscored the impact of economic
attitudes on the issue.
Furthermore, an understanding evolved that certain communities lack the resources to
effectively tackle the problems arising from contagious diseases. This realization
underscored the influence of economic factors in shaping responses to the issue. Rural
communities, with limited modernization and internet access, heavily relied on internal
resources and culture, in contrast to more urbanized groups that were interconnected and
affected differently.
As a by product of this project, my comfort zone expanded to encompass working in a team
environment, placing a premium on effective communication and collaborative decision-
making. The recognition of the significance of collective editing, leading to a consistent style
and format resonating with everyone, became apparent. Moreover, I mastered the art of
optimizing my workflow, generating high-quality work efficiently and with minimal
distractions and organizational hurdles.
In conclusion, this project not only deepened my understanding of a critical issue but also
equipped me with invaluable teamwork skills poised to benefit me in future collaborative
endeavours. The significance of not exclusively relying on official sources but also heeding
the voices of those affected became evident. Officially, strides are being made in addressing
this issue and bringing it under control.
