Objective of the course/module: This subject is designed to introduce students to the basic macroeconomic concepts, models, and tools; to equip students with understanding and necessary skills for economic analysis and application of policy alternatives to solve particular macroeconomic problems in an open economy. Synopsis: The subject introduces the basic macroeconomic concepts and issues, goals, and analysis of aggregate output, employment, government policies, money market, and external sector for measuring economic performance of a nation or region. Subject Learning Outcomes: At the completion of the subject, students should be able to explain about macroeconomic measurement and its basic concepts and purpose; to explain and apply macroeconomic models based on fiscal policy, money, banking and monetary policy; to relate international sector (exports and imports) with exchange rates and balance of payments.

Title (example): Comment on one current macroeconomic issue such as unemployment Objectives: To assess students basic understanding of the concept of unemployment, problems and the policies to remedy it. Nature of assignment: Group assignment 1. Four Five students in a group 2. Length of the assignment about 5-6 pages Description: The assignment must contain the theory and discussion, conclusion and use of references and appendix.
