EXPECTATION
SETTING
This is a very quick activity to know your
expectations to your Classmates, Subject,
Self and Formator in this semester. Give at
least one or two answers per question.
A. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR CLASSMATES IN ORDER
TO MAKE THIS SUBJECT MORE MEANINGFUL?
What I expect to my classmates is that they are willing to work together when needed and
pull their share of work in a group project. Also, in order for this class to be more
meaningful, I expect that they are always present and on time as well. Additionally, I expect
them to be friendly and approachable especially when we are going to do a group activity.

B. WHAT PARTICULAR LEARNING EXPERIENCE DO YOU

EXPECT TO GAIN FROM THIS SUBJECT?
I do have a lot of expectation when it comes to this subject. One of the
particular experience that I am expecting to gain is that to increase my
civic awareness and have a defense preparation by practicing
development of service and patriotism. I believe that NSTP plays a vital
role in every student. This serves as an eye opener to us about the
society. National Service Training Program prepares us to be ready in
our professions. And those are what I am expecting to experience.
C. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR
FORMATOR IN THIS FORMATION PROGRAM?
My expectations from my formator is that she is very
approachable and considerate. We are in a pandemic so I
hope she will give us more time when it comes to
activities. I also expect her to be understanding when we
face some difficulty on this online mode of learning. Other
than, I expect her to be happy person.
D. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO CONTRIBUTE IN
THIS SUBJECT?
What I want to contribute in this subject is my willingness
and passion to learn. I think being very driven individual
can influence other people. Another thing is my life
experiences that is connected to our lesson. Such as
public service, leadership and training-workshops.
E. WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE IN THIS
SUBJECT?
I hope that this subject will teach me a lot about national
service. I am also hoping that this subject will train my
individuality and practice my skills in leadership.
Additionally, I hope that it will give a lot of life long
learnings that I will ude in the near future.
PRE-LECTURE
A. WHAT COMES TO YOUR MIND WHEN YOU HEAR THE SUBJECT NSTP?
When I heard NSTP, what come to my mind is that it aims to promote and integrate
values education, transformational leadership, spirit of patriotism and nationalism
and sustainable social mobilization for youth development, community building and
national security.

B.WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE

SUBJECT?
What I know about this subject is that it is a
civic education and defense preparedness
program students instituted by the Government
of the Philippines on 23 July 2001 by virtue of
Republic Act 9163. It requires college students
to take this course.
C. WHAT DOES YOUR FRIENDS TOLD YOU ABOUT NSTP? OR WHAT HAVE
YOU BEEN HEARING FROM OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT NSTP?

Based from what my friends told me and also from

what I heard from other upperclassmen students,
they say that it teaches us to be a better person. It
helps us to be aware. Like for example the problems
that encountered by our country nowadays. It makes
us aware about our environment. This subject makes
us realize about everything. Like the current issues
that is tackled every time in the news. And this
subject teaches a lot of lessons in life.
