PART 2: ECEDucation 2023 Key Takeaways
Write 5 key points you gained from the panel discussion from different speakers. Briefly explain each key point.
Panel Katrina Huet N. David
I like how panelist Kat was aware of different appropriate and effective educational practices in other countries. She mentioned three (3) educational practices: discipline in Japan, forest schools, which promote play and exploration, and Te Whariki in Finland. It only shows that we have so much to learn and incorporate into our Filipino educational practices to deliver much-needed concepts to our students. I think that if we adapt educational practices from these three (3) areas, it could really be a great breakthrough for us Filipino teachers to help our students grow more and also help them hone their different skills.
Panel John Cris Mencide
The word GRITFUL. I think it is now my favorite word as I enjoy my journey to become a teacher. I believe that gritful is like the foundation of all the characteristics that a 21st century ECE teacher should have because if you are not gritful enough, you can’t learn something that will be beneficial in your own classroom someday. Grit means courage and resolve; it is the strength of character. When you are gritful, it's like giving all that you have just to ensure that your student will learn something with your help.
Panel Danah Ruth Urag
Simple things matter. Education in Singapore really is good, and one of the reasons I think why is that is they really involve parents/caregivers in the child’s early education. Panelist Danah said that simple chitchats with the parents/caregivers are a great way for them to address some trouble with the behavior of a child and that they can collate what strategies they can do to lessen this trouble with the behavior. The same goes also with any positive progress of a child. Teachers could give feedback to parents/caregivers through this chitchats, while the parents/caregivers could give feedback through their "Parent Portal.”

Panel Maria Excida Q. Dianzon Being technology literate is a great help for future ECE teachers. Through this, we can make our classroom more fun and engaging because we should be flexible to adapt to our students, who are more exposed to technology. It can also help us get their attention; we just need the right activities with technology to keep their attention on our discussions. I also love what Panelist Rexci said: "We cannot give what we don’t have", so we should make sure that we are still learning even though we are already teachers because learning is for everyone, and if you as a teacher still learning, it is a good thing because the thing that you recently learned will be useful in your upcoming discussion inside your own classroom.
Panel Jessa P. Ensao
I envy Panelist Jessa because of the fact that she is teaching in New Zealand. This is what I also want after I graduate, because New Zealand has been my dream place since I was a child. I love how panelist Jessa emphasizes instilling consent and respect in children. Instilling consent and respect as early as possible will be helpful in their own growth as adults in the future. It teaches the child that their opinions matter and that they have options. Instilling these two things helps the child to know that each one of us has boundaries and that boundaries should be respected, as well as to understand that they have the right to say NO at any time.

PART 3: ECEDucation 2023 Insights and Reflections
Choose one intelligence from Howard Gardner’s M.I. and show
the insights you gained from ECEDucation 2023. Elaborate the things you have realized in the panel discussion in relation to your journey as an early childhood educator. ECEDucation 2023 is a big help for us since it consists of questions that we formulate, and we get to hear the answers from different perspectives of educators. This ECEDucation only shows that we, as teachers, only want what is best for a child’s education. I learned that we should be flexible and that we can incorporate other countries educational practices into our Filipino educational practices; being gritful will help us to strive more in teaching and learning; simple things matter all the time; technology literacy for teachers is a must; and lastly, consent and respect are best taught at an early age as possible. With all of these realizations, I think my journey as an early childhood educator someday will be much more knowledgeable, full of smiles, and smoother.
