As stated in an article I read online, globalization refers to the integration

of the world nations by means of their people, goods, and services. Many
among us refer to the current period that we live in as “The Era of Globalization”
and think that the process of globalization has started only recently. But the real
fact is that globalization is not a new phenomenon. The world was moving
towards globalization for a very long time. The term globalization has been in

existence since the mid-1980s. But it was only from the early 21 st century that
globalization picked up momentum due to the advancements in technology and
communication.

I noticed that most of my things are foreign-related and if there are no

things like this in the local store I tend to go online shopping to achieve my
needs. There was this statement in the video: “Almost no human being alive
today lives with stuff only manufactured in their home country, but a thousand
years ago, only the richest of the rich could benefit from the silk road.” I agree
with this, I notice that I prefer foreign things over local ones because I admit I
have the mindset that if foreign-made it is more efficient and pretty but if it is local
it’s not. I compare foreign-made to locally made things and also I usually buy
from American shops.

Globalization has greatly impacted our everyday lives from necessity to our
wants and I say it is good but it has its consequences if we continue to live like
this because as I watch the different videos that our professor sent to us it made
me realize that globalization has really bad effects on us even though it makes
our lives easy especially in this days, as what stated in the video the production
of T-shirts wherein there are too many chemicals related, from harvesting the
cotton to producing T-shirts out of the cotton to burning it because its time has
already expired and in that production the smoke that the factory releases have
different poisonous chemicals that hurt and is still hurting our Mother Earth. If we
can’t stop this fast we must take it slowly so that we can retain the beauty of our
Mother Earth and also it is only the living planet where we can stay imagine if we
continue our lives like that sooner or later Mother Earth will crumble and we will
all die and the globalization that other people try to make big it will not have any
value if we will not take care of Mother Earth.

I think the pattern that describes my everyday life is a cycle because

there’s really nothing to change there for me because it’s like circling endlessly
and if I will be given a chance again to be reborn and still in an underdeveloped
country I would still patronize the things of the developed countries. I would
describe globalization as a forest fire, it is widespread every minute because of
the help of the wind same goes for globalization we associate people with the
wind and if we look at the point of view of ordinary people globalization for them
is different same goes for the investor’s point of view.

Globalization is a really powerful tool that has ever existed. It has the
power to change every people’s decision in life whether to ride a ship or go with
an airplane, we tend to forget our traditional and cultural ways. This activity
helped me to be more aware of the things that I use in my everyday life, it taught
me to give more importance to Mother Earth than to satisfy my so-called
worthless wants also it taught me to patronize my locally made things rather than
foreign made. .
