READING REPORT 1: CONSCIOUS

CONSUMERISM

Things that you agree with (why?)

I agree with the ideas that there are many things that are part of the aspects
that must be changed to be responsible consumers and that we do not see as
such, that we do not realize that they are also part of this, as he gave the text
an example that spoke about travel, because it is something I know, it can not
only happen to me but also to everyone, it never crossed my mind how this
aspect can harm the environment and so same how many things we do, without
realizing what we provoke and worse, we feel that we are aware of everything.

Things that you disagree with (why?)

There is something I do not agree with and it is in the conclusion that the text
takes, saying that despite everything, you have to accept that people are always
going to want their luxuries, they were going to want to travel, and have their
comforts if they they were at capacity and capitalized, as long as they were
helped to make smart decisions; and it doesn't seem like the idea because I
don't think I can get to see a balance between wanting to have those things and
looking for the smart way to produce them, I think that what is smarter is simply
thinking that there are things that, as the word says, are only luxuries, they are
things that are not indispensable for our life and they use the excuse that it is to
look for comfort and happiness.

Your own reflection about it.

I start by leaning on the part where I did not agree with the text, continuing this
idea in which I think that it is not okay to believe that there is going to be a
balance between that supposed solution, and the reaction or rather the non-
reaction that they have people as long as they make "smart decisions", people
make an excuse that having this thing will make them happy, it will allow them to
have a more comfortable life, people in search of these excuses have become
accustomed to the need, people now supposedly they cannot live without things
that are not really vital, now, it is true that our society has evolved, has
globalized and this included changes and perhaps makes things indispensable,
but even so we have to realize that everything has a cost and that evolution, exe
growth, that development, rather than costing us it is costing the planet earth,
and unlike the economy in general, if this not only enters crisis, if not it
collapses, the damage it may have would be irreparable, and if it were, it would
be not only very slow but also very extensive and by then, perhaps not even
people will continue to exist; Likewise, I think that happiness as it is subjective is
found in many ways, in many ways, and not as a society and different people
that we are, I do not think it is logical to give it a single common form, generalize
it and less in material objects, you should Maybe trying to remember and feel like
the people of the world a long time ago when many things did not exist, and if
perhaps back then many things were complicated and I do not deny that
everything has brought us help, but we lost something important that was the
ability to be happy and feel comfortable with what little we had, and for all of us it
was more than enough. Now it is curious how we do not realize, how we let our
day to day, our comfort, we let that comfort zone, blind us, like everything, it is
our fault, and yes, now we can say and judge each one As a person, and as I
might, I would start by saying that I am a responsible consumer, that I take care
of the environment, that I recycle and my analysis would be just this, I would not
give it more importance, which is why I would never realize that such simple
things, such as recharging my cell phone and several electronic devices a day
produces a high energy consumption, that by dirtying so many clothes you have
to wash more, therefore spend more water, that every week I buy disposable
cups and packaging instead of slides, and glass cups or a material that I can
continue to use, these are just very few examples and maybe they seem
insignificant, too small, but I bet there are thousands of people who do the same
thing, and think the same thing, those are things that n or we become aware and
maybe we never will, things that I had never thought about until a moment ago,
but as everything may have a solution, and the only one I can think of at this
moment would be to start giving it the really importance, to start to educate
ourselves, companies and future consumers, try to adapt to recycling even
more, to be happy with little and only what is necessary. Because as everything
is important to start, and as a part of the text that I support, it is still a good time
to do it.

Main Idea of each paragraph

- There is a difference between the position of people now and as it was 20 years
ago with respect to what consumption is.
-People realize they must be minimalist
-Also the experience within the business mishaps until now intervenes in them
to make them smarter in the face of this.
-the importance that people are giving to companies thinking about preserving
the environment and taking action.
-responsible consumption encompasses too many things of which we are only
truly aware of a few.
-an example of this is in travel (whether by land or by air) and what it costs the
environment as it grows and how we do not notice this.
-question of the virtuous circle
-The day of the overshot that shows the day that the demand for resources is
greater than what the earth can produce, concluding that we are getting too
close to an extreme point of this,
-An investment idea that is not only responsible and intelligent and how you
should have good control so as not to get a good return if not the best use with
few things, taking care of everything that can affect the environment.
-It cannot be denied that people if they can do it will give themselves luxuries in
life, so a responsible consumer or investor is not the one who refuses to do it or
stops living well by leaving aside their capital, but rather the decision maker not
only smart but informed and aware.
-If we want to continue feeling good, give ourselves those luxuries, and be happy
with it, we must make an effort to give counterpart to this.
