MASTER IN PUBLIC HEALTH
Respected Admission Committee,
I am writing to express my sincere interest in pursuing my Master’s program in Public Health.
My name is Rubina and I hold Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Pursuing
this Master's Program will not only broaden my in-depth knowledge but it will also bring more
opportunities for me by which I can make significant contribution in Health sector.
I completed my graduation in Nutrition and Dietetics (4 years program) in 2018 and did 1 year
Post Graduate Certification in Doctor of Nutrition and Dietetics with distinction (medalist),
completed 9 months clinical internship in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in 2019 and having 5 years of
clinical experience as Nutritionist (Oct 2019-March 2023) led a strong foundation to pursue my
Master degree in Public Health Program.
My 5 years of experience shows my skills to individual level and to polish these skills, I want to
enroll myself in a degree where I can contribute to broader scale. Master’s in Public Health
allows me to contribute to Global health perspective and community based interventions.
Why University of Eastern Finland? Because it is one of the highest ranked university especially
based on Research Quality and it will be honor for me to become a part of this esteemed
institution. Moreover, diverse and cooperative environment, academic excellence, research
opportunities and global perspective makes it a compelling choice for my Postgraduate studies.
I believe pursuing Master’s program in Public Health helps me to address health challenges on
International scale by participating in collaborative research projects or programs such as
WORLD HEALTH PROGRAM aimed to improve health outcomes globally. Moreover, MPH
provides diverse career paths including health promotion and disease prevention, healthcare
management and epidemiology.
During my graduation, I did research on “VALIDITY OF THE MALNUTRITION
UNIVERSAL SCREENING TOOL (MUST) IN PAKISTANI HOSPITALIZED ACUTELY
UNWELL ELDERLY PATIENTS” and it was published by YASHFEEN JOURNAL OF
HEALTH INNOVATION AND PRACTICE (Sept.2023). I believe Masters in Public Health at
University of Eastern Finland will polish my research skills to optimum levels where I can work
more enthusiastically on my interested areas such as “Rising incidence of cancer among young
adults” what are its risk factors and possible interventions. This thesis topic not only aligns with
my commitment to public health but also contributes valuable insights to the broader effort of
addressing and reversing the concerning trend of increasing cancer rates among young
individuals.
In conclusion, I am confident that the Master's in Public Health program at the University of
Eastern Finland will provide the ideal platform for me to expand my knowledge, contribute
meaningfully to the field, and emerge as a well-rounded public health professional.
