Since a young age, I have been determined to devote myself to a lifetime of service to others.

It
is in pursuit of this passion that I am applying for the Master of Public Health Program As a
dedicated and compassionate Bachelor of Nursing student, I am eager to expand my knowledge
and skills in public health to better serve communities and address healthcare challenges on a
broader scale.
I first became interested in healthcare when I volunteered as first-aid provider in my senior year
of school and in my family my mother and elder sister were also involved in health sector, their
dedication and impact on the lives of the patients inspired and motivated me to pursue for a
bachelor’s degree in Nursing in college. I was fortunate to get admission into one of the top
universities in Nepal and graduated with a 3.4 GPA in Nursing. During my undergraduate studies
in Nursing, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems, epidemiology,
community health, and healthcare delivery. Through clinical rotations and internships, I have
witnessed firsthand the impact of social determinants of health on individuals and communities.
These experiences have fueled my passion for public health and inspired me to pursue further
education in this field.
I joined the undergraduate program in nursing with a simple vision- a vision to help people and
make a difference in their lives. It was not until I started the program that I realized how widely
applicable the scope of a career in Nursing is. Nowadays, many people have chronic diseases due
to sedentary lifestyle and unbalanced food, for instance, in each house one family member are
suffering from chronic disease. My parent are also suffering from that disease which make me
more devoted to study nursing. My undergraduate program taught me the basics of disease
prevention, treatment and patient rehabilitation. In my senior year in college, I had done research
under the guidance of teacher, I had done research regarding knowledge of family planning
among married population in their reproductive age group. The result totally shocked me,
knowledge regarding contractive method was very poor. So, I believe that a Master of Public
Health program will equip me with the necessary tools to address complex public health issues,
develop evidence-based interventions, and advocate for health equity. I am particularly drawn to
epidemiology, as they align with my academic interests and career goals.
Furthermore, my background in Nursing has provided me with strong critical thinking,
communication, and leadership skills, which are essential for effective public health practice. I
am confident that I can contribute valuable perspectives to the MPH program and collaborate
effectively with my peers and faculty members.
Upon completion of the MPH program, I envision myself working at the intersection of nursing
and public health, promoting preventive care, implementing health education initiatives, and
advocating for policies that improve population health outcomes. I am committed to making a
meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities, especially those facing
disparities and barriers to healthcare access.
I am impressed by [University Name]'s reputation for excellence in health education and
research, as well as its commitment to diversity and social justice. I am eager to join the vibrant
academic community at [University Name] and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to
address the most pressing public health challenges of our time.
Thank you for considering my application. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the
[University Name] community and pursue my passion for public health. I look forward to the
possibility of further discussing my qualifications and aspirations with you.
