Why I Opt Master of Public Health MPH:

My journey in medicine has been driven by a deep-seated passion for improving healthcare
outcomes and addressing the root causes of health disparities. Having completed my Medical
Doctor degree, I am now eager to expand my horizons and pursue a Master of Public Health
(MPH) at the University of Chester.

Throughout my medical education, I have gained invaluable clinical experience that has
provided me with a profound understanding of individual health needs and the complexities of
healthcare delivery. However, I have come to realize that many health challenges extend beyond
the realm of individual patient care and require a broader, population-level approach to address
effectively. It is this realization that has sparked my interest in public health.

During my medical education, I encountered diverse healthcare challenges, witnessing firsthand

the impact of social determinants on health outcomes. These experiences ignited my passion for
preventive medicine and public health interventions. The prospect of addressing health
disparities and promoting community well-being has become a driving force behind my decision
to pursue an MPH.
By pursuing an MPH at the University of Chester, I aim to bridge the gap between clinical
practice and public health, leveraging my medical background to contribute meaningfully to
population health initiatives. The program's interdisciplinary curriculum, with its focus on
epidemiology, health policy, and community health promotion, aligns perfectly with my
academic interests and professional aspirations.

I chose these modules to gain a well-rounded understanding of public health, from epidemiology
and statistics for data analysis to theories and principles for effective interventions.
Communicable disease management, health policy development, and economic considerations
are crucial aspects in addressing population health. The research dissertation offers a platform to
apply acquired knowledge, fostering practical skills essential for making meaningful
contributions to public health practice.

Moreover, the University of Chester's reputation for excellence in public health education and
research, coupled with its supportive learning environment and experienced faculty, makes it an
ideal institution for furthering my education. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to
engage in hands-on learning experiences, such as field placements and research projects, which
will allow me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world public health challenges.

Transitioning from clinical practice to public health may seem like a departure from traditional
medical pathways, but I view it as a natural progression that complements and enhances my
skills as a healthcare professional. By pursuing an MPH, I hope to broaden my impact beyond
the individual patient level and contribute to creating healthier communities and populations.

In conclusion, I am excited about the prospect of embarking on this new academic journey at the
University of Chester and am confident that the MPH program will provide me with the
necessary tools and knowledge to become a competent and compassionate public health
advocate. I look forward to applying my medical expertise to address pressing public health
issues and make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

Future Plans:

Upon completing my Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Chester, my
career path will be focused on contributing to the advancement of public health initiatives in
Pakistan. With my enhanced knowledge in epidemiology, health policy development, and
community health promotion, I aim to collaborate with various stakeholders to address pressing
health challenges in the country. I envision working with governmental bodies such as the
Ministry of Health and provincial health departments to formulate evidence-based policies and
programs aimed at improving healthcare access and outcomes.

Additionally, I aspire to join non-profit organizations like the Pakistan Medical Association and
the Aga Khan Health Services, where I can actively engage in community-based health
interventions and advocacy efforts. Moreover, opportunities within international NGOs such as
WHO and UNICEF Pakistan would enable me to contribute to global health initiatives and
leverage international resources to address local health disparities effectively. By combining my
academic training with practical experience and a passion for public health, I am committed to
making a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of individuals and communities
across Pakistan.
