Statement of Purpose

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll
go.-Dr. Seuss by the great quote of Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel I would initiate my statement of purpose. I
am Asha Rahman, a citizen of Bangladesh with passport number A00192735. I am eager to enroll in the
MSc Global Health program at Norwegian University Of Science And Technology (NTNU)in Norway in
order to close a knowledge and skill gap in the functional areas of health that are now in demand. My
expertise in pharmacy has givene the motivation to focus my professional efforts on rising illness
prevention awareness.

I have completed my Bachelor of pharmacy from University of Development Alternative with CGPA 3.42
out of 4.00. In conjunction with my instructional pursuit, I additionally have actively participated in an
array of extracurricular activities. I was involved in Public Health club and Science club, Pharmaceutical
club and Sangskritkik club in my university. At the same time, I have participated in various voluntary
activities of philanthropy and community service to contribute to my society. I continue love to go to
such social welfare campaigns.

Having graduated from pharmacy I entered the professional domain as an "A" Grade Pharmacist
(Registration No: A-14212) at Abir Drug House since 2017. I'm in charge of monitoring and administering
prescription medications, alerting patients about side effects, contraindications and related things. At
that time I observed that our country’s healthcare systems are not yet well developed. People don’t
have enough knowledge about hygiene and diseases prevention. Not only that Bangladesh is
overpopulated country where lot of people suffering from different types of diseases, the situation is
very challenging. Oil and other industrial waste have easily polluted the streams and rivers which are
also used by people as their means of livelihood. During Corona pandamic, I saw even worse situations
as I assigned to a voluntary work from Jago Foundation, Volunteer for Bangladesh etc to deliver food
and mask to the people in my country. I noticed huge indiscipline and misleading that have caused that
pandemic situation even worsed. People were even unaware about social distance, they didn’t know
either coronavirus is preventable or not. Finally I realised that my true call lies in a more service -
oriented career. That’s why I decided to undertake an MS in Global Health.

I have been searching for universities for a while and found your graduate program which seems
suitable for me. Your university belongs to the top QS ranked and serves the best possible facilities than
any other universities. The environment of the country, as well as university, is totally education
friendly. Undoubtedly, there is no discrimination between native and international students and provide
equal facilities for both category students. The contribution to research purpose is extraordinary and a
lot of publications are published every year. global health also plays an important role in this
achievement. The quality of educations is world-class and gives similar efforts both in theoretical and
practical knowledge. The hospitality of the people of your country created a place in the core of my
heart. I strongly believe that you will choose me as a new member of your university family and give
opportunity to study there so that my dream come true as well as help me to expand my knowledge and
can keep contribution to the future achievement of your university to retain the present reputation.
After my graduate program, I would like to obtain a Doctor of global health degree from your university.
Hope you will select me as your student and provide me the opportunities to serve for the well-being. As
well as I am fully aware of the financial requirements that I am obliged to fulfil for admission for the
program. Accordingly I have made preliminary arrangements to ensure the availability of funds.

environment and culture is a priority for universities in Norway . Norwegian universities accept
applications from qualified students from all over the world, and the Educational experience is unique.
In all elements of Norwegian education, diversification id given top emphasis.

After completing the degree and gaining much-needed international exposure, I would like to return to
my country from Norway to start the second phase of my professional life as there is a wide range of
opportunities that will open up for me with the help of the degree I would attain from The Norwegian
University Of Science And Technology(NTNU). This course will prepare me to continue doing the work I
love – investing global health issues and coming up with real solutions to resolve the problems. Above
all, I must return to my family, to whom I owe everything. Lastly, I want to make a difference in my
country's health sectors and work for the betterment of the people of Bangladesh and continue my
work as a skilled professional.
