PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am of the opinion that furthering my Masters of Public Health at the University of Texas at
Arlington is the next step that I will be taking in terms of career development. For this purpose,
my career path has already been structured to meet my goals. Therefore, I feel it is by far the
most logical step in the right direction I can take. I believe that continuing my degree in public
health at UTA would be very helpful for me to achieve all my objectives. Furthermore, it would
allow me to channel all my conceptual and qualitative skills to prevent disease and prolong
life. In addition, I would be very interested in opening new avenues in research.
Throughout high school, I have led multiple groups, a position bestowed on me by my teachers,
having discovered my interest in science, human growth, and development. In addition, my
genuine interest in practical works and love for research have given me the capacity to
comprehend a successful project, thereby enabling me to practice more often in such a role.
My undergraduate degree, BSc Microbiology, gave me the platform to acquire sound
knowledge in analyzing the determinants of community health and its challenges and a solid
foundation in investigating the growth and quality of health. All of which I find as a cornerstone
for public health.
I have worked in a hospital as a lab analyst, where I was responsible for testing and analyzing
biological samples using special equipment. These allowed me to work with other scientists
and doctors to manage and monitor different health conditions. I also worked in a pharmacy as
the head of procurement. I Facilitated the procurement of medicines that meet prescribed safety
and health standards. My eventual goal is to shift to a long-term career in the health
management field. I believe that UTA is the best place to learn and achieve this goal. I want to
study under the best minds in a country with a reputation for world-class research and is
recognized by employers and academics worldwide.
I am interested in continuing my education at UTA for various reasons. First, I have read and
heard about your program at UTA, and I believe the University's purpose of training health
professionals will complement my ambition of becoming a professional in my field.
Furthermore, there is a strong community, a favorable learning atmosphere, highly experienced
personnel, devoted technology, and an internationalization process for exposure.
Enrolling in this prestigious university will allow me to focus on areas that interest me. Such
as health education and evaluation, and community health assessment. It will also present an
exciting opportunity for me to meet individuals from all over the world with varied cultures
and beliefs, share knowledge, form groups, and participate in extracurricular activities and
other hobbies that will help me grow academically, morally, and socially.
I promise to put in total commitment and passion as I'm acquiring a master's degree in your
prestigious institution with cutting-edge facilities. Upon graduation, I look forward to bringing
back the knowledge I have got to Nigeria and making an impact in my chosen field.
Finally, I hope that the admission committee sees all my strength and background meets the
requirements of your UTA program in Public Health.
