• Describe the sun as a star.
• Identify the characteristics and layers of the sun as a star.
• Give value to the benefits we get from the sun as a star.
II. Subject Matter:

C. Materials: Chalk and Board, SMART TV, printed materials, Laptop, clear paper, and crayons,
cartolina, colored paper, pentel pen.
III. Procedure:
A. Review:
- Briefly review the previous lesson on the factors that affect the change of climate.
- Ask students to recall the different factors that they can remember.
- Gather learner’s assignment.
B. Activity:
1. Introduction: Activity Title: DRAWING RELAY
- Direction: The teacher will group the learners according to their seating arrangement or by
five (5) depending on the number per row.
Each learner will be given a clear paper and a crayon.
Learners will paste their clear paper on their back except the first one (the leader), and the last
learner will draw it on the colored paper for their final output.
The teacher will play a short video on how the game will be played.
The teacher will let the leader see the drawing in front, memorize it, position in their respective
group, and let the game begin.
One of their groupmates will present their drawing result and paste it on the board.
C. Analysis:
- Lead a class discussion based on the result of their activity, emphasizing the image of the sun
and its definition or characteristics; if learners could be able to mention.
- Encourage higher thinking order skill by asking questions such as "Is the sun has different
layers? What do you think about it?"
D. Abstraction:
- Summarize the key points about the parts and characteristics of the sun.
- Relate the concept to real-world examples and briefly discuss the importance of the sun in our
lives.
E. Application:
- Provide GROUP ACTIVITY that engages them to give value to the benefits we get from the sun.
Group Activity Title: BEAT THE MINUTE
- Direction: The learners will be grouped into 5 groups with their selected leader, each group
will be tasked to write down at least 5 and a maximum of 10 benefits we could get from the
sun in the cartolina.
Each group will be sent outside, letting them find their comfortable area (not far from classroom) to
make their output while gazing at the sun.
Before sending them out, the teacher will play a timelapse video on the beauty of the sun.
Three (3) minutes’ time will be given for the group to beat. And one (1) minute per group for
reporting.
With a twist, during reporting of their output; the same answer, idea, concept, or writings to the
other group will not be counted.
Learners will make sure their writings visible from afar.
The activity will be evaluated through Rubrics.
