Air-borne Transmission occurs when fine microbial particles or dust particles containing microbes remain suspended in the air for a prolonged period. The infectious disease is spread by air current and is inhaled by a susceptible host (2 pts) Ex. Anthrax, Tuberculosis, Varicella zoster (chickenpox), Legionellosis, Meningococcal disease, Pneumococcal infections, Meningitis, Mumps, small pox, Shingles (2pts) c. Vehicle transmission is the transmission of infectious disease through articles or substances that harbor the organism until it is ingested or inoculated into the host. (2 pts) Ex.
