VGU
The Department of Forensic Science at Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan,
India, stands as a cornerstone of academic excellence, committed to advancing
knowledge and practice in forensic science. With a rigorous curriculum overseen by
experienced faculty, the department offers comprehensive programs covering all
domains of forensics including biology, chemistry, toxicology, psychology, digital
forensics, and crime scene investigation.

response was overwhelming, with sixty students enrolling in the inaugural batch.

A criminologist specializing in organized crime and illegal markets, teaching at University of Durham and Teesside
University, delivering guest lectures across Europe. A former local government officer, He is a member of the
Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime and editor-in-chief of *Trends in Organised Crime*. Since
2019, he has been a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and has provided expert commentary on organized
crime in various media outlets.
Prof. (Dr.) Gorazd Meško
Dean at CJS, University of Maribor, Slovenia. Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security and
visiting scholar at the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge (1995, 2001) and Centre for Criminology,
University of Oxford (1996, 1999).
Dr. Kam C. Wong
Chair/Associate Professor at Xavier University, Ohio. Former Inspector of Police with the Hong Kong Police and
was awarded the Commissioner's High Commendation. Former Director of Chinese Laws Program at Chinese
University of Hong Kong and currently on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Comparative Criminology
and Asian Policing.
Professor Vesna Nikolić-Ristanović
Director of Victimology Society of Serbia (VDS) and professor at Faculty for special education and rehabilitation in
Belgrade. Member of the Council for gender equality of Serbian Government and counseler of Serbian
ombudsman for gender equality and rights of disabled. Editor-in- Chief of Temida, and corresponding editor of
Feminist Review.
Professor Uri Yanay
Professor at the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem,
Israel. His cross-national research evaluates social policy guidelines and public services designed for victims of
crime and terrorism. Part of this research deals with the impact of selected mediation and restorative justice
program aimed at reducing community tensions and solving local conflicts.
Prof. (Dr.) Muzammil Quraishi
Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice at the University of Salford, UK. He co-investigated the Understanding
Conversion to Islam in Prison (UCIP) project (2017-2021) and is currently involved in the Prison-based Intervention
for Muslim Offenders (PRIMO) project. His publications include *Muslims & Crime* (2005/2016), *Researching
Racism* (2015), and *Towards a Malaysian Criminology* (2020). He is also co-authoring a forthcoming book on
Islam in prison. Dr. Quraishi has consulted for various UK governmental bodies regarding Muslim prisoners.

Dr. Leandro Ayres França
He is a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Reading, with expertise in criminological research, theory, and
punishment studies. He holds a Doctorate and Master’s in Criminal Sciences from PUCRS, Brazil, where he also
completed a postdoctoral fellowship. Previously, he worked as a lawyer and served as a Penal Police Officer and
legal advisor. Leandro coordinates the Contemporary Criminologies Study Group and has taught various modules in
Criminal Law and Criminology. His recent publication examines police compliance with COVID-19 rules in the
context of cultural values.
Prof. Mally Shechory
She was the vice rector of Ariel University during the last seven years. She is the head of the Criminology
department and the head of the Master Degree Program in Clinical Criminology, at Ariel University, Israel. Prof.
Shechory Bitton completed Family Therapy study at Tel Aviv University, and and post-doctoral study on the
subject of Victim Offender Mediation, at University of Tübingen. Her academic work includes both practical and
theoretical experience in the fields of victimology, violence, and aggression. She has a very broad scientific activity,
documented in numerous publications.
Dr. Mark David Chong
He is an Associate Professor in Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies at James Cook University (JCU), Australia,
where he also serves as the Criminology Major Coordinator for the Bachelor of Arts program. He was previously
the Director of Research Education at JCU and Acting Associate Dean of Research. In 2021, he received the Vice
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Community Engagement. Dr. Chong has been recognized for his exceptional
support for students with disabilities and delivered the 2015 'Last Lecture' on educating future crime fighters. He
holds a PhD in Law from the University of Sydney and an LLM from Queen Mary University of London. Dr. Chong
has also taught the Singapore Police Force and designed a criminology course for them.
Dr. Mohamed Chawki
Mohamed Chawki is an Associate Professor of Criminal Law and Cybercrime at Naif Arab University for Security
Sciences (Saudi Arabia). He is also the founder and co – director of the African Center for Cyberlaw and
Cybercrime Prevention, founded at Nelson Mandela University, South Africa. Doctor Chawki is the co-drafter of
the African Union Convention on Cybersecurity, the author of many articles on cybercrime published in peer-
reviewed journals in France, the USA and the United Kingdom.
Prof. (Dr.) Doraval Govender
Professor at the University of South Africa and a past governor of the South African Institute of Security. He
served as Assistant Commissioner (Major General) in the South African Police Service and was President of the FBI
Middle East and Africa Chapter from 2001 to 2005.

Dr. Spencer Toth Sydow
Dr. Spencer Sydow is a holds a Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD in Law from PUC-SP and USP, respectively. He is the
author of several books, including *Cyberterrorism* and *The Theory of Willful Blindness*, published by JusPodivm
and D'Plácido. Dr. Sydow has written numerous legal articles, available on his Academia.edu profile. He is a senior
attorney, a professor at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and a postgraduate supervisor. His
specializations include legal education, distance learning, criminal law, criminal procedure, criminology, and criminal
policy, and he frequently speaks at conferences and events.
Prof. (Dr.) Yuning Wu
Professor at Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Wayne State University. She holds a bachelor’s
degree in Law from Renmin University of China and a PhD in Criminology from the University of Delaware. Her
research focuses on policing and criminological theories, and her work has been published in journals such as
Justice Quarterly and Crime and Delinquency. Wu is coauthor of Race, Immigration, and Social Control: Immigrants'
Views on the Police (Palgrave, 2018). She has received several awards, including the Dorothy Bracey/Janice Joseph
Minority and Women New Scholar Award.
