Supply Side of Tourism

Attractions Bacolor is one of the municipalities of Pampanga that is rich in arts, culture

and tradition. Because of this, ancestral attractions were made. 1. San Guillermo Parish Church During the year 1880, the church was destroyed by an earthquake and was rebuilt by Fr. Eligenio Alvarez in 1886. It is also known as the sunken church, because it was half buried by the lahar flow on October 01, 1995. It was renovated and now operating. The second floor windows were now converted into doorways. The church was used to shoot the 2009 teleserye May Bukas Pa. It promotes their town to bring in more tourists and religious pilgrims to this lahar-ravaged town. 2. Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Cabetican It is famous because of its yearly pilgrimage and barrio fiestas. 3. Don Honorio Venture Technological State University (DHVCAT) It is believed to be the oldest vocational school in the Far East. 4. Hampton Orchards It is located in Calibutbut, Bacolor, Pampanga and is a Mediterranean - inspired home living. It has active amenities like Basketball court, Swimming pool, Playground and Club house. 5. DFARM It is a 14- hectare integrated farm and a private resort located in San Isidro, Bacolor, Pampanga. It is a perfect place for lovers of nature, or one who enjoys peace, tranquility and simple farm living. Best resort for team building, seminars, retreat, private parties or any occasions. 6. The memorials of the Death March has its kilometer Posts in Mac Arthur Highway.

Services No accommodations are available for the tourist. But the municipality of Bacolor,

Pampanga already has plans for the building and construction of hotels. There are also no spa and massage services available in the town. The kakanin, tustadung puto, puto seko and suman are Bacolor, Pampangas famous native dishes. 1. Apag Marangle The word means Hain sa Bukid. The famous restaurant in Bacolor located at the Olongapo road. Apag Marangle is a restaurant that offers an authentic medley of mouth-watering Kapampangan dishes and related cuisine perfectly complemented by an inviting native architecture that takes the diners to a unique gastronomic journey like no other. They serve Pampangas specialty food like Tugak-frog (stuffed and fried), Camaru (sauted cricket), Pinaupong Manok (pan steamed) chicken sitting on rock salt in a pan, Fried Hito, and Pampangas Asado. 2. Pampangas Best It was formerly located in Bacolor, Pampanga, but because of the lahar which devastated the site, the owner decided to transfer to Magalang. 3. XeveraBacolor Xevera Bacolor is located at the back of Holy Angel Village. Its architectural concept is reminiscent of the class and grace of Spains classical architecture. Xevera allows you to live like the aristocrats did. It offers complete community for its home owners.

Transportation At San Fernando Intersection, there is a terminal going to Bacolor,

Pampanga. It is located in front of a McDonalds branch. If the tourists are from Manila (NLEX), they can go to another terminal going to Bacolor. In front of SM Pampanga, they can ride Guagua-Bacolor jeepney. And also, tourists can ask or tell the driver where their destination is, because they the route of Bacolor. Jeepneys, buses and tricycles can be used as their means of transportation.

Information 1. Internet The history of Bacolor can be seen in the internet. Tourists can also watch some videos in youtube, a web site for viewing videos, where they could watch its fiestas and festivals. People can also watch the teleserye May Bukas Pa, since, the San Guillermo Parish Church was used to shoot the said teleserye. Kapampangan, Tagalog and English can be spoken by the citizens of Bacolor, Pampanga. Facilities available in the place are markets, schools, drug store, hospitals, churches, few food establishments and municipal hall. There is no spa or massage in this place. 2. Radio The weather conditions of Bacolor, Pampanga can be heard in the news through the radio.

Promotion The people of Bacolor, Pampanga, or the Bacolorenos are inclined to culinary

arts. They are known for their cuisine and good food. Their famous culinary treats are the incomparable pansit luglug, the tamales, suman bulagta, putoseco and sopas (special mammon). Lots of different festivals are being held in Bacolor which is another way for the place to be known to people. Festivals and events in the place can be used as promotion, because they have unique activities and ways within that can be found alone in Bacolor. And through these festivals and events, they can attract tourists from other places or countries. Some tourists are not only focus on the attractions but also to the culture and the history of the place. And the place of Bacolor doesnt have many attractions but they have a lot of festivals. The following are the notable festivals being held in Bacolor, Pampanga: 1. La Naval It is celebrated every 3rd Sunday of May 2. The Feast of San Guillermo It is celebrated at the 10th day of February.

3. Lubenas It is a colorful procession of patron saints mounted on wheeled carriages and held for nine consecutive evenings before Christmas. 4. The Pinatubo Trek It is held every November 30 to commemorate the world famous eruption of the Mount Pinatubo. The event is meant to bring together hundreds of people to the tranquil and pacific crater lake of Mount Pinatubo. 5. Nuestra Senora del Santisimo Rosario de la Naval de Bacolor It is a festival which is held every 3rd Sunday of November.
