CEO- Pierre Nanterme After spending the past 28 years with Accenture, I feel very privileged to be writing this message as our new chief executive officer. I succeed Bill Green, whose many years of leadership positioned us incredibly well for the future and who will continue to serve Accenture as our chairman. This is a special time in our companys history as we celebrate our 10th anniversary as Accenture. We introduced our new name to the world on January 1, 2001, and have spent the past decade continuing to build our brand, which has now become synonymous with our commitment to helping our clients achieve high performance. We take great pride in the fact that only two years after becoming Accenture, we were ranked No. 53 among the worlds top global brands with a brand value of more than US$5 billionand that today we have a brand value of US$7.5 billion. As a company, we have seen much change over the past 10 years. For example: We have nearly tripled our workforcefrom 75,000 employees in 2001 to more than 211,000 people today.
We have transformed our operating structurefrom a group of locally owned independent partnerships or other entities in 2001 to a public company with net revenues of US$21.6 billion today. We have expanded our presence in the emerging markets. In 2001, five percent of our employees were based in Brazil, Russia, India, China, Mexico and South Korea. Today 36 percent of our people reside in these markets. It is also important to note what has not changed at Accenture, namely our commitments to providing exceptional client service; to practicing our Code of Business Ethics; and to living our core values: Client Value Creation, One Global Network, Respect for the Individual, Best People, Integrity and Stewardship. Looking ahead, we are focused on accelerating the execution of our growth strategy while continuing to build on the strength of our brandin helping our clients achieve high performance and in bringing positive change to the communities in which we work and live. I am incredibly excited about this journey and truly believe the best of Accenture is yet to come. Pierre Nanterme Chief Executive Officer Accenture
