Past Continuous Tense
Past = อดีต Continuous = ตอเนื่อง
S + was/were + V.1ing
I talking.
He was reading.
She (คือ is) eating.
It hiding.
You sleeping.
We were learning.
(คือ am, are)
They coming.
หลักการใช Past Continuous Tense มีดวยกัน 3 แบบ คือ
1. เหตุการณที่กำลังเกิดในอดีต เชน
It was raining yesterday at noon.
(ฝนตกลงมาเมื่อวานตอนเที่ยง)
2. เหตุการณที่กำลังเกิดตอเนื่องอยูในอดีต แลวก็มีอีกเหตุการณหนึ่งเขามาแทรก
เชน I was talking on the phone when my mom called me.
(ฉันกำลังคุยโทรศัพทตอนที่แมของฉันโทรมา)
3. เหตุการณกำลังเกิดไปพรอมๆกันในอดีต
เชน While she was cooking, he was washing the dishes.
(ขณะที่เธอกำลังทำอาหาร เขาก็กำลังลางจาน)

*ประโยคที่อยูหลัง while และ as ใช Past Continuous เพราะเปนเหตุการณ
ที่ยังจะเกิดตอเนื่องไปอีกระยะหนึ่ง
โครงสราง (Subject + was/were +V.ing)
*ประโยคที่อยูหลัง when ใช Past Simple เพราะเปนเหตุการณที่แทรกเขามาสั้นๆ
