|am Amar Kumar, a Ph.D. scholar at the Centre for Deendayal Upadhyay Studies, Central
University of Himachal Pradesh. lam conducting research titled India's Response and
Strategy Towards China's String of Pearls Policy: AStudy of National Security. The
information collected will be used solely for research purposes, and participant identities
will remainconfidential at alltimes. The objective of this study is to provide insights that
could contribute to strengthening India's national security strategy. In the 2004 US. report
Energy Future in Asia, it was suggested that China aimed to encircle India through its
String of Pearls strategy. This research contextualizes the String of Pearls policy through
expert input from professionals in the defense sectors of both India and China, including
diplomats, professors, military officers, and other relevant figures.

The study will examine areas such as professional service, travel patterns, strategic
expectations, and relevant publications. Data will be collected through interviews and
questionnaires,analyzed, and conclusions drawn accordingly.
