Background My name is Hanis Afiqah binti Sahrom and I'm 18 years old. Most of my friends call me Hanis but my family call me Eqa . I was born on 20th October 1993 in Kajang, Selangor. My mother gave birth of me at private maternity hospital, Kajang. I have 5 siblings including me, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. As you all might guess, I'm the fourth in the family. I live in Taman Cheng Baru, Melaka, the state call Negeri Hang Tuah.

Parents & Siblings My father's name is Sahrom bin Ahmad. He's 49 years old. My father used to be a private sector servant in different areas. He used to be a Human Resource Executive in multinational company in many years until he resigned 2 years ago. He is now a full time of insurance/takaful agent and Public Mutual investment consultant. He is graduated from University Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1986 in Mathematic discipline. My mother's name is Rosidah binti Harun. She's 47 years old. My mother is a physic teacher at Sekolah Menegah Kem Terendak Melaka. She graduated from Bishop University, Canada in 1987 majoring in physics. Both my parents have been dedicated their lives in raising the 5 of us and ensure that we become successful individuals in this world and hereafter. I thank God to have such great parents. The eldest among my siblings is my brother, Amirul Asyraf bin Sahrom. He's 22 years old. He graduated from Multimedia College with Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering. He will pursue his degree in the same field at University Kuala Lumpur (BMI) for 2011 July intake. The second one is my sister, Hanis Najihah. She's 21 years old and still study at Global Institute, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan in Hotel management. The third one is another brother, Amirul Haizat Khair. He's 19 years and still study at Institute Pendidikan Guru Raja Melewar, Negeri Sembilan as to fulfil he ambitions to be a teacher. My youngest brother Amirul Hafiz. He's 16 years old and schooling at my mother school, SMK Kem Terendak, Melaka in form 4 science.

Educations My primary school life begun when I was 6 at Tadika Kemas, Taman Bukit Rambai, Melaka. Primary school is Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Rambai, Melaka. I pass with flying colours in UPSR in standard 6. Then I went to secondary school, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tinggi Perempuan, Melaka I managed to do well in PMR in form 3 and continued my form 4 in the same school. Once again I did quite well in SPM (6A 3B) and I have been offered Asasi Sains Hayat at Asasi Center, UNIMAS, Matriculation Sciencet under Ministry of Education and Asasi Sains Hayat Kolej Mara Kuala Nerang under UNIKL.

To make decision, I and my parents make a study and survey on the entire three centers above and at the same time pray to the God to get guidance. With high reputation and achievement of Kolej Mara Kuala Nerang to produce good result for the past years, I have strong confident that the lecturers here will assist us for best result in curriculum and co-curriculum. My ambition to pursue study in UNIKL (RCMP) one of the leading university can be realized.

Hobby I always fulfil my leisure time with reading books and discussion with friends through face books. If my parents have longer free time, we will go for holidays with a group of my parents family or at least go for recreations such as mountain climbing and campaign. For daily activities in the afternoon, I like to play badminton and jogging with my parents. My Ambition For years I have pondered what I want to do in life. I have thought about every possible career that came to mind. Out of all of them, doctor stands out the most. After PMR result 2008, I have selected to continue my study in form four science at SMK Tinggi Perempuan Melaka. I love all science subjects, since than I have promised to myself to study hard to get good result in SPM to enable me to get place to study in medicine. Today I have selected to study in Asasi Science Hayat at Mara College, Kuala Nerang under UNIKL Program where every students are given opportunity to pursue study in medicine subject to the achievement of final CGPA. With guidance from all lectures, friends and support from my parents I, will study hard to get CGPA result more than 3.5 every semester.

I want to become a doctor. It is a noble profession. In medical line, there is much more scope of service. I can serve the patients everywhere in the country. This is my personal choice. I wish to become a very successful doctor in future. So I am studying hard to achieve my target. I have keen interest in medical line, so I do not feel any trouble in studying at all. I would like to contribute in someway to help people regain their health and happiness. As a doctor I would do my best to be there for my patients whenever they need me. I would devote all my energy to learn more about my subject going deeper into it and giving the best possible treatment to one and all.

It has, therefore, always been my ambition to become a doctor and to be able to cure diseases and to ease pain. Many count riches, power and glory among their ambitions, but for me, to serve humanity through medicine is the highest ambition of all. After obtaining the medical degree, I plan to work in rural areas where there is much shortage of doctors. This will give me extreme satisfaction and that is the aim of my life.
