Resume vs.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

A resume is a precise document that showcases the applicant’s best skills, achievements and work
experience. It is typical one page long and could include an objective and a summary career
statement. Resumes should be tailored according to the job position you are applying to and
emphasizing the key skills and abilities that your employer could value the most.

Before starting writing a resume, take time to reflect on your professional experiences and
achievements such: internships, summer jobs, part-time jobs, volunteer work, course projects,
leadership positions, and extracurricular activities. These would help you identify your strengths
and skills you have to offer to your internship provider or employer. It is important to keep in mind
to mention skills and experiences that are relevant to the position you are applying to. Don’t be
afraid if you don’t have professional experience. Try to focus on the coursework, skills you have
mastered throughout you studies, skills you gained in activities you have participated that are
relevant to the industry, and/or any events you have organized or been in charge of. Remember to
not exaggerate the information you put in the resume. Rather try to write a honest and accurate
