A. CONNECT (Duration: 5 mins)

What type of social media platforms do you often use when communicating with your
friends/classmates/teachers/others?

I frequently use platforms like Facebook and Instagram to communicate with friends and
classmates, while email remains my primary channel for interactions with teachers and other
formal communication.

B. COACH (Duration: 30 mins)

Please list down your existing social media accounts. (FB, Twitter, Instagram etc.) From each of
your social media accounts, list the professional contact/s you want to tap. Why this person/s?

FB- I chose my mother, Melisa Celocia as a professional contact on Facebook because

she's not just family; she's also my biggest supporter. Sharing work updates with her
helps bridge the gap between my personal and professional life, making her a key part
of my journey.

INSTAGRAM - I choose my sister, Rhea Celocia as a professional contact on Instagram

because she's not just family; she's my go-to person for support and encouragement.
Sharing work updates with her on a platform we both use makes those professional
moments feel more connected and meaningful.

Sometimes we are shy about reaching out to others, especially strangers. How can you
overcome
your shyness to be able to network?

To overcome my shyness in networking, I try to see it as making new friends rather than
just professional connections. Finding common interests and taking small steps, like
introducing myself to someone at an event, helps me break the ice and build
connections more comfortably.

Where do you/ your friends/ family members find information about jobs?
I usually check out job opportunities on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and my
friends and family often share leads they've found there or through their connections.
It's nice to have this support network that keeps an eye out for job possibilities.

C. CHECK (Duration: 20 mins)

Think of the people you can reach out to. They may or may not be in your circle
yet. But it’s always possible to widen your circle. :)

List down the people who could help you with ideas or career advice. They can be 5
people you know (and
who know you) + 5 who may not know you but want in your network.

Networking Exercise #1: People I KNOW (and who KNOW ME) and can be in my

As you reach out to the names that you just listed down, ask yourself these questions
and answer them

What will you ask them?

I would ask for advice based on their experiences, seek insights into their respective
fields, and inquire about any valuable lessons they've learned along their journeys.
Additionally, I'd express my eagerness to learn from them and ask for guidance on
navigating challenges, both in their specific domains and in personal growth.
What will you share with them? What can you offer?

I would share my aspirations, academic or professional achievements, and my

eagerness to learn. I can offer a fresh perspective, enthusiasm, and a willingness to
contribute in any way possible. Whether through collaboration, sharing ideas, or lending
a helping hand, I aim to establish a mutually beneficial relationship within the network.

Mind your social media manners!

Employers check your social media accounts. You need to behave in a way that will
help you get employed. Don’t let employers get the wrong first impression about you!
Try to reflect on the following reminders.

● Never engage in heated arguments online.

● Be mindful of what you post on your page (and in other people’s pages).
● Do not overshare. Keep personal details private.
● Interact with empathy and respect.
● Check your tone.
● Always keep your pictures wholesome.

Absolutely, maintaining a positive online presence is crucial for professional

opportunities. I'll make sure to avoid heated arguments, be mindful of my posts, refrain
from oversharing personal details, interact with empathy and respect, watch my tone,
and ensure that my pictures reflect a wholesome image. It's important to present myself
in a way that aligns with potential employers' expectations.
