Mister Gordon,boys and girls.Our prasentation is about the history of ABBA.

ABBA was a Swedish pop music group formed in Stockholm in 1972.There names are Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad, Bjrn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Agnetha Fltskog. First ,wed like to tell you something about their time before ABBA. Agnetha Fltskog (born 5 April 1950 in Jnkping, Sweden), when she was only 17 she was for the critics and songwriters a talented singer/songwriter of schlager style songs. Along with her own songs, she get covers of different hits and performed them on tours in Swedish parks. Bjrn Ulvaeus (born 25 April 1945 in Gothenburg, Sweden) also began his musical job at 18 (as a singer and guitarist), with the group Hootenanny Singers, a popular Swedish group. Benny Andersson (born 16 December 1946 in Stockholm, Sweden) became (at age 18) insider of a popular Swedish pop-rock group, The Hep Stars. Andersson wrote the song "Hej, Clown" for the 1969 Melodifestivalen, the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest finals.At that chance Andersson met his future wife, singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad (born 15 November 1945 in Bjrksen in Ballangen, Norway) sang from the age of thirteen with different dance bands, and worked in a cabaret style. She also build her own band, the Anni-Frid Four. In the summer of 1967, she won a national talent show with the song "En ledig dag" ("A Day Off"), in the EMI compilation Frida 1967-1972.

The story:
People Need Love was the title of the first together single, which brought the four musicians in 1972 on the market. They saw each other but still not as group. They didn t have a name together at that time. So they wrote only their names on the cover.

The eurovision song contest


With the song ring ring they were made in February 1973 the third place at the Eurovision Song Contest. The group werent happy about this result, but soon they were planning to go again in the following year. With their new band name ABBA, the four artists won 1974 with their song Waterloo the Eurovision Song Contest with a big gap .At that time started their big fame. A lot of countries found ABBAs show very good when the Eurovision Song contest was finished. In many countries, claimed the song Fernando weeks at number 1 on the charts. Fernando was also one of the first singles, which was by the Federation of the Phonographic Industry with a gold record award. If you have any questions ,we can answer them after our presentation.

The Songs:
Depending on how the four were on, they wrote their songs. If they feel good, songs as Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen. If they feel bad, songs as the winner takes it all. Dancing Queen also finished in September and October 1976 the world's top places in each country-music charts. After the single was put out in November 1976 also in the USA, Dancing Queen finally get on 9 April 1977 the first and only ABBA songs and the head of the U.S. charts. ABBA in 1977 catch more highlights in her career: selling your records worldwide with great result, so they got alot of awards and record prices. Their big tour of Europe and Australia was sold out everywhere. 1980 Agneta and Bjrn cuttet their marriage. He married on 6 January 1981 his new life partner Lena Kllersj. Benny and Anni-Frid also cutted after he had begun a Love with TV presenter Mona Nrklit. Bjrn Ulvaeus and Lena Kllersj, Benny Andersson and Mona Nrklit are still married. So the band broke in 1882 and all ABBA members startet their solocareer On 12 February 2005, the Musical Mamma Mia got out in Sweden. Mamma Mia was the second Musical from Benny and Bjrn. The premiere of the movie Mamma Mia! put out on 4 July 2008 in Stockholm all four ABBA singers had show and for about two minutes with some film actors on the balcony of the theater Rival Stockholm. Mamma Mia, brought young people close to ABBA again.
