Xenobia Legacy.

The Years of Jubilee: Chapter Two

by LauriMizutani

Reunions, births, birthdays, and more.

Wait a minute where are you going? You made that mess get back there and clean it up now! I said get back...Chester Platz I'm going to kill your dog! Oh! Er....um, yes, welcome back to Jubilee Legacy. It's been a long time coming but I hope it's worth it. If you haven't read the previous updates I'd suggest you do that because it'll be a bit confusing otherwise. This is only the third one so it shouldn't take too long. When we last left off Kento Mizutani, Flavius Marius, and Jack Reaper (the grimster himself) had went off planet to rescue Aristide's fiance, Mitchellnikan (Mitchell from here on). Kento, although determined to help his friend Aristide, had been reluctant to leave his wife and small children. The arrival of two new simselves, Michelle Fobbs and Cel Phoenix, tipped the scales just enough that he felt he could go.

"Here we are. Michelle, there may be danger, distress and possibly alien kidnapping are we ready?? ?Danger, distress, and Alien kidnapping? Is it too late to back out of this?? ?Yep, passed that the moment we got put into place hold. Oh well we have a nice house, a lab out back for all our Knowledge Sims needs...." "And keep track of any unauthorized entrance into the neighborhood. Aristide's enemies might show up." "True, but Lauri did say we could use it for our own experiments as well." "Sure, and you can help me with my French." "The language or the cuisine?" "Both?" "As long as we steer all conversations away from fried eggs."

"And we each have our own computers set up with the Sims so we won't be any further behind on updates." "Oh thank plumbob, it was torture not being able to play while mine was down." "Do you think, Michael will be joining us soon?" "Perhaps, he said he'd try, but he wasn't sure how much help he'd be." "Hmph his job is to keep you company and make sure we don't forget to eat." "I'll pass it along."

A few days later relaxing over a game of poker after hours spent in the lab, Michelle and Cel wondered how Kento, Flavius and Jack were doing on their mission. "It's been a few days, you don't think the Grimster turned on us or anything do you?" Michelle half-whispered. "I wondered about that, but Lauri insists that Jack is a white hat." "Well, I suppose she's in a position to know. Of course it was a dangerous mission anyhow breaking into a guarded prison. Lauri told me they had force fields and laser weapons around the larger perimeter, and then guards inside. The biggest problem she said was that the buildings were made from a rock found in abundance in that region. It`s full of tetrocetrotocylides and Jack says they interfere with his abilities.? "So that's why he couldn't find him at first, and needed Kento and Flavius' help." "Yep, Michelle, do you ever get the feeling we're just here to dish out exposition?" "Sometimes, after all we are the placeholders. I'm sure we'll have more to do later."

"She hasn't called yet tonight. Do you think that's a good sign or a bad one?"

"I can think of a few explanations why she hasn't called," Cel responded calmly. "Yeah?" "Yeah. One, problems with one of the eight kids." "Eight kids," Michelle chuckled, "do you think they're going for ten?" "I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised. Elixir helps." "True, but go on." "Two, Kento's made it back home, and she's distracted." "I can see why that would distract them." "Three something got past us and attacked her."

"Er...should we call her in case it's number three?" "Michelle, their house is right behind us, and the Prof is right next to her. Do you really think that we wouldn't hear if someone was attacking her? I really think three is probably the least likely. But we could check with the Professor if you want." "I think we should, just to be sure. I do hope they were able to rescue Mitchel. Aristide will be devistated if she loses him."

Aristide's Journal: I couldn't believe my eyes that morning when I woke up and saw Mitchellnikan sitting there at the breakfast table. I sat up and sighed, I was hallucinating for certain I thought. "Why can't you be real, my darling." Hearing my words he turned and smiled a soft smile, "Why can't I be, dearest one?"

A bit confused and still not sure if this was just a very real dream or not, I joined him at the table. The food seemed real enough. "Are you really here? Did Friend Jack manage to rescue you?" "He did, with the help of your other friends Flavius and Kento."

"Your friend, Jack, explained quite a bit for me. It seems that the place where they were keeping me is high in some sort of mineral or something that interferes with some of his abilities. He had to go through more traditional means. Once he found me he needed Kento and Flavius because he couldn't just walk in, fetch me and walk out. And then of course they had to convince me who they were and why they were there." "And it seems you got help from the same space pirates that helped us get away." "How...?" "Your outfit it matches the one they gave me." "Do you think, Friend Jack will ever understand the significance of personal color." "Very doubtful, love."

"Hmm, why don't I let you change clothes, dear. We really need to talk and seeing you in that is a bit distracting." A blush covered my cheeks but I nodded and he stepped outside, so I could shower and dress. I was a bit amused that he had talked so much. Mitchellnikan usually somewhat taciturn, seemed to making up for the long time apart.

When he came back in, I reassured myself that he was really there.

Several times.

We spent the day talking. We reminisced. Talked about what had happened since we were separated. And even talked about our future. It was during that time that I got down on my knees. "Mitchellnikan, I know that last time you proposed to me, but so much has happened since then. We have changed as well. But one thing hasn't changed. I love you, and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else. Will you be my husband, Mitchell? Will you be my partner in this new life we find ourselves?"

"Aristide?" he was taken aback at the proposal, but then he smiled, "Aristide, I love you with all my heart nothing can stop that, ever. The Lord sent you to me to love and protect and turn to when I am lost. I would be the worst possible ingrate to turn away from such a perfect gift. Of course I will marry you."

We decided not to wait for an extensive ceremony. I was sure that Lauri, Kento, and the rest of my friends would understand.

Mitchell wasted no time getting a job in law enforcement, and building a new home for us and our family. He had large plans so the house he designed was also large. Much larger than I ever expected for myself, but I didn't mind. Lauri came over during the construction to look it over. After a small tour, Lauri pulled Mitchell aside to discuss something with him.

"Mitchell, I've wanted to discuss something with you and Aristide for a while, but her schedule makes it hard so I thought I'd discuss it with you and let you talk to her when she gets home." "Of course." "There's a thing called a legacy," and she continued to outline the basics of legacies. "Among our people heirs are common. I'll talk it over with Aristide tonight and let you know what we decide." "Thanks, Mitchell." A smile played on his lips, "Lauri you are our friend. You and our other neighbors have helped us more than we could ever repay. It is I who should thank you."

Mitchell and I discussed it, prayed about it and then called Lauri and told her we'd be happy to start a legacy, and she was more than welcome to record it if she wished. It didn't take us long to start our family. I was so happy when I realized that Mitchell and I were going to have a baby.

I might have been the one having the baby, but poor Mitchell with working on the house, and his life as a police officer, was exhausted even more than I was. I often found him asleep over his empty plate, and helped him to bed.

I think there might have been times I didn't notice though.

The Professor came and visited at times. "Congratulations, Aristide, do you think there are any unauthorized twins in there?" a twinkle played in the redhead's eyes. I laughed, "Any twins authorized or not will be welcome. Triplets though...that might be difficult." "Definitely, tell me does Mitchell mind using your family name?" "I'm sorry? Xenobia is Mitchell's family name, not mine." "It is? We thought," the professor's words petered out. "Ahh it's a difference in naming convention. We use our given name, a word indicating daughter or son, and the family name. When a couple become engaged, a word indicating marriage is added and the other person's family name." "A bit complicated." "We like it."

Prof and I were having a cooling water balloon fight when Mitchell came home. I could tell something was bothering him. He told me later he had made a bad decision and they demoted him in response. It took a while but I managed to reassure him that he was a good officer and that one bad decision wasn't the end of his career.

He decided to spend the day off relaxing on the beach. I'm not sure he put enough of that sun lotion on, though.

"Kento Kento! What do I do? Well you've got eight kids I figured you'd done this once or twice before!" "Whatever you do, man, don't, repeat don't, get within striking distance."

"Get off the phone and get your butt in here before I come out there and rip your ears off and push them up your rear!"

I honestly felt like I was dying I was beginning to wonder if this had been a good idea or not.

"I'm here, dear, just breath and twirl. Lauri insists it's the best way." Mitchell said from a safe distance. "Twirl...how do I tw....ughhh!"

"Ari!!!" "It's coming, Mitch! It's coming!"

And after a pain filled eternity, Penelopesia alves Xenobia came into the world.

Mitchell insisted she was the spitting image of me. I couldn't argue, but mostly I just thought she was the most beautiful creature ever created. My blessing was in my arms.

While I rested, Mitchell greeted his daughter. "Welcome, Penelope, we gave you a much longer name as is normal among our people, but here the names are much shorter. I'm not much of a talker usually, but if you ever need to talk to me or your mother, I'll always be there for you." It's true, Mitchell doesn't normally speak a lot, but when something is very important to him, he can be quite eloquent.

We laid her on the special baby mat we bought for her while we waited for her crib to arrive. And now that I was feeling a bit better I brought my other blessing into my arms. Of course that didn't last too long as his arms were a bit sensitive.

We still knew how to have fun after we put the baby to bed.

And Mitchell was a wonderful father to our little girl. I wondered if she would be the heir for the next generation. But it was still much too early to tell.

But time passed quickly and soon it was time to celebrate Penny's birthday. I let Mitchell have the honors this time.

But I wasn't far away, cheering my baby girl on. "Go Penelope! Spin and grow!" "Ready, little princess? Let's go."

"Cootchie coo!" "Spin her Mitchell! I'm dying to see what she'll look like."

"Okay."

"Ooooooh doo goo!"

"And there's my special girl, confetti and all!"

The blessings that had been poured out on me by the almighty never felt more palpable to me then at times like this.

Mitchell and I began to work on training our daughter in all the skills she would need in her next step of life. "Dada, pee pee dada!" "Yes you did! Good girl!" "No me poo poo. Dada pee pee. NOW!" She was quite a forceful personality.

It wasn't long after Penny's birthday that I began to show signs of my second pregnancy. I was a little surprised, but overjoyed. Mitchell and I wanted at least three children. And it seemed like a good time to give Penny a brother or sister.

Venus wasn't exactly thrilled with Penny's newest entertainment. I'm not sure I was either since she tended to eat it as much as throw it.

We bought a tub for the new house but hadn't been able to install it yet so Mitchell used it outside to wash the baby. "What did you learn today dear?" "Cat food Yummy!"

"Mommy paying." "Yes, mommy's praying so we don't want to disturb her, right?" "No turb mommy." "So let's see. How about... Baby conga looga looga looga. Baby conga looga loo ga derb." "Ba ba oooga oooga oooga." They were trying, and I just added my thanks for them and the baby to my prayers.

"Baby conga looga." "Penny know dis, mommy." "I know, I thought you'd like to play with mommy." "Penny want play with baby! When baby comming? Now?" "No dear not now." "Morrow?" "No dear not tomorrow either." "Poopy." "Penelope!" "What?" she asked in all innocence. I was going to have to keep an eye on what Mitch and I said around her that was certain.

A week or so later Lauri visited again and we had a good talk while Penny played. Lauri was telling me about her children. Especially the ones in college. It seemed her daughters were getting engaged, two of them to the Professor's sons. I'm not sure I'll ever understand the difference in aging among my friends families, but at the same time it reassures me to know that they will be here to look after my children when I no longer can.

"And can you believe the doctor said, twins!" "Did you see what they were?" "Girls, both girls!" ?Have you thought about names?? ?Calliopellissa and Pheobellia, but we`ll shorten it to Calliope and Pheobe for school and such.? "Yes, we did the same where I grew up.? ?So are you going to try again for a boy?" "We haven't decided yet. We might. I thought a boy named Stephan would be nice, especially if he looked like his father. Have you heard anything lately from Friend Jack?"

"Oh, Jack said he might not be around for a while, he has his normal work to do, but it seems he wants to take care of some unfinished business back on your home world as well. Michelle and Cel have been monitoring things as well. They haven't seen anything out of the ordinary." "Good. Do you think it's possible that we've escaped detection completely?" "It's hard to say, but I'm hoping so."

A man named Komei came home with Mitchell. They played chess and discussed work. It seemed there was a lot of politics going on at the station. Mitchell and K as he liked to be called were trying to stay out of it, but at the same time they knew they had to stay abreast of what was going on around them.

"Dorian is a good guy and he's trying to do a good job, but Lt. Jameson just won't cut him a break." "I know K. Jameson seems to think that when the chief retires his own name should be on that desk." "Yeah and Dor is the best candidate, or you."

"Me?" "Oh come on Mitch, you're a good officer, and you care about doing the right thing over doing what will get your picture in the paper. Of course, you might decide to go straight for Captain Hero."

"Mmmm, now that is a position I could imagine for myself. Much less politics than Chief of Police." "True, me I just want to be a detective and leave the rest of that to the rest of you." "You're a good detective, K. You should stick with it." "Thanks, Mitch, but I wouldn't make that move."

"Why?" "Because now I'll have you in check in 17 moves." "What?"

"MITCHELLLLLLLLLL!"

"It's time?" Mitchell yelled from outside? "Yeeeees, and if you don't get in here now...." the threat dissolved into a series of groans.

"Aristide! The door is locked from your side!" "What??? Arrrrgh!"

"Oh dear heaven, ohhhh ohhhh."

And with a spin our second daughter, Calliopellissa alves Xenobia, was born. She looked so much like her father that I smiled to him through the locked door. But I knew I wasn't going to have much time before her twin sister would be making her arrival.

A few moments later Phoebellia alves Xenobia was born and joined her sister while I let their father in the house.

Phoebe looked a great deal like Penny.

While Callie looks a good deal like her father.

Penny was having issues with her blocks and her anger. I wan't quite sure how to deal with that, but I tried to get her to harness that anger constructively. The only thing is that it isn't the easiest thing to do with a toddler.

But I think she was starting to get it.

"Mommy like babies better?" "No, sweetie, mommy loves all of her little girls the same. But the babies are very little and they need lots of attention." "I want 'tention, mommy! Want lots!" "I know. I know. Want to help me make a bottle for the babies? You're a big girl now, you can watch and make sure mommy does it all right." "Okay, me help!"

My daughter was so adorable, I can't help but show off pictures of her.

Time passed as it always does and soon, it was time to celebrate three birthdays. All three of my little girls were growing up before my eyes. "They grow up too fast." "Ari?" "I just wonder if maybe I should...." "You do what's best for you, dear. I'm making enough to finish the house, and to support us." "I know, but I like helping people too. I just don't want to hurt my children doing it." "Have you prayed about it yet?" "No. I should." "Pray, and I'll support whatever decision you make." "I love you too."

I took Penny to the cake this time. And since we were both off and could celebrate early we held the small party out on the beach behind the house.

"Fire!" "Yes, but don't play with it, dear." "Me big girl!" "Yes, but fire hurts big girls as well as little girls." "Ohhhhh. BAD FIRE! Me bo you out."

"Good job, Penny!" "Me good bo-er."

And so I sat her down to let her finish growing up.

The two of us were quite the cheerleaders.

And so our daughter transitioned from a toddler into a young child. And she promptly told us that her color was pink. Well, children often change their minds between now and adulthood, but I knew I would start looking for pink paint and furniture as soon as possible.

She was quite intrigued with her hands. I'm not sure why, but I've been told that it is quite common in children her age. Funny how I don't remember being that way myself.

"Ready for the next two dear?"

"Ready as I'll every be."

"Don't worry, they'll turn out just as well as Penny did." "I'm sure." "I think I'm going to switch out of these clothes though." "Something more comfortable?" "Well, I think I might work out a bit after we're done." "You'll already look good in the spandex, love." "Have to earn it first."

I held little Pheobe up to her cake. Mitchell was embarrassing me by swooning like a schoolboy.

"Yay Phoebe! Yay Calliope! Come on and grow up you two we have lots to do!"

Calliope jumped first and was easily caught by her father. Phoebe didn't quite seem ready yet.

But when no one was watching she jumped and spun into a beautiful toddler just like her older sisters. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~

Author's note. This mean child here is my simself's son, Eijiro. He came to Aristide's house and I thought cool he can play with Penny, and then I saw him do the plotting hands thing and head for the paper. And I was almost too stunned to pause for pictures, but I recovered and here is the proof. I will use it if he tries to tell me he's innocent when it comes time to punish the little thief.

So with this picture of my "failure" of simself parenthood, I'll leave you. I think I have enough for a second update in a few days, so the gap should be much shorter this time around. Until then happy Simming. L
