Why Die?
A living thing can roughly be described as anything which can take in stuff to produce energy, respond to
stimulation, and most importantly "Die". Most of what I said is considered "Natural" including the ability
to Die.
Immortality: Perspectives
If you ask your average human "Should humanity gain Immortality?" They will respond with an
outstanding "No" cause why would anyone want to see all their friends and family die, no one will want
to float in the emptiness of space when the universe dies, no one wants their life to be filled with
achievements that are eventually meaningless cause in the end Death gives Life meaning, Death is the
finish line at the end of the race where's you evaluate yourself and become fulfilled with a life well
spent, Death is friend, Death is Good.
"You are Delusional if you think that way" I say Death is not a friend, it doesn't give life meaning for
every second of our lives is meaningful and we do not need validation from Death. Just think what can
be achieved if we live in a world where all of humanity are Immortal if you do not have a finish line, just
think of all that can be done if you do not fear an end.
Imagining an Immortal World
Let your Imagination wonder for a moment and just think of how a world without death may look like,
some of you would have already pointed out some problems like, "Overpopulation", "Genuinely Evil
people that deserve nothing but death", and more.
Another good thing is that was will be less frequent, for sure they will still be disagreements for as there
is freewill to have an opinion, there is freewill to oppose an opinion, what am trying to say is that
weapons will be almost nonexistence cause humans make most weapons to kill other
creatures/humans, heck slavery will not exist cause why obey someone unless you respect that person,
at worst they will just be shouting at each other.
Sex will become more of a sport, an action humans do just for the fun of it or the genuine want to raise,
teach and care for one of it's kind.
Challenges in an Immortal World
Now for some of the bad stuff in this immortal world like how do humanity deal with this freedom for as
they are people who will do stuff, they are those who will feel that "life is meaningless" and I also say
"how is life meaningless", you can literally do whatever please you, if sleeping all day please you, then
you do you.
Evil rulers will still exist but now the ones being oppressed by the rulers can choose to fight back cause is
it better to live the rest of your eternal existence unhappy or take some momentary pain and make your
existence better.
Moving towards Immortality
I am well aware that an "Immortal world" is fantasy so I invite writers and storytellers to explore this
world. Before you dismiss all I just said as a dream, I ask "Why don't humans try to get as close to this
dream as possible". Modern technology is advancing fast and what humans can do now is just the tip of
the Iceberg and the prehistoric humans will never had imagined such a future, humans have cured
diseases that were once incurable, humans have a vast network of information and communication
called the Internet, humans have increased their life expectancy by 72 years and more, technology is
advancing fast and soon humans will be able to halt ageing and yet upon all the good promises by
increased technology in all fields, humans still waste money and resources killing each other, they waste
resources to further their short term goals instead of coming together and conquering the Galaxies, yes
they do come together from time to time but I just find it funny that they won't do it more often.
The World is full of misery but I ask as an observer "Why Sit Down and Do Nothing".
