MARCH AND REVIEW

Prior to the start of the PASS-IN-REVIEW, the leaders place markers on the parade
ground, the places where the troops and kawans would be stationed, including their Senior
Patrol Leader (SPL) and chief USA (CU) for the kawans participating. The over-all SPL must be a
Boy Scout or Senior Scout. The over-all SPL has no staff. Troops and Kawans should bring only
their patrol and color group flags. All commands except when reporting to the SPL and
Inspecting Officer should be done in Hand and Whistle Signals.

This Pass-In-Review is done after the Opening of the acrivity; therefore, there should be
no playing by the band the Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas.

Distances between troops should be six (6) steps and must maintained all the times. The
SPL is positioned twelve (12) steps from the troops and kawans if there are only two to four
units participating. If there are more than four units, the over-all SPL should be positioned
twenty-four steps (24) from the units, preferable at the center.

I. ASSEMBLY
The troops and kawans assemble outside the parade ground preferably at the back of
the staff, on the right side of the parade ground facing the audience.

II. TROOP AND KAWAN FORMATION


The over-all SPL signals the band leader to play martial music and the troops and
kawans march to their designated places on the parade ground.

III. ALIGNING OF TROOPS AND KAWANS


The over-all SPL gives a signal to the different SPL and CU to check that all patrolsand
color groups are aligned properly.

IV. PRESENTATION OF TROOPS AND KAWANS AND INPECTING OFFICERS & STAFF
Emcees announce that the following troops and kawans will present the Pass-In-Review.
The Inspecting Officer is Formally introduced.

V. MANUAL OF ARMS
The over-all SPL commands the troops and kawans following through hand signals; right
face, left face, about face, dress right dress, parade rest and ready front.

VI. REPORT
The SPL of every troop and chief USA of every kawan will say: “Sir, Troop__all
Present, all accounted for.”
After the SPL and CU have reported to the over-all SPL , over-all SPL reports to the
inspecting officer, saying: “Sir, all troops and kawans are ready for the activity.”

VII. BAND CENTER OF MARCH


Band marches in front of the troops and kawans. They may even have as
exhibition but it’s performance not to exceed five (5) minutes. Then the band returns to their
former position.
VIII. CENTER MARCH
All SPLs and Chief USAs at the side march to the center, then march together
with over-all SPL to the inspecting Officer. At about six (6) steps from the inspecting officer,
they halt and salute. After they are recognizedby the inspecting officer they execute about face,
then march to their respective positions.

IX. TROOPING THE LINE


As soon as the SPLs and CUs are in their respective places, the over-all SPL
commands the troops and kawans “parade rest.” Then he reports to the Inspecting Officer and
say “Sir, all troops and kawans are ready for trooping the line.” The Inspecting Officer and
School Officials Present together with the over-all SPL, go around the different units. As soon as
the Inspecting Officer and staff approach the troop, the SPL signals attention. Only the SPL or
CU salutes. After the inspecting officer has passed the troop. They execute parade rest.

X. MARCH AND REVIEW


Over-all SPL commands “PASS-IN-REVIEW.” Over-all SPL marches in front of the
band, then signal forward march. All troops and kawans march forward, then column left and as
soon as they reach the markers, they execute left flank. At approximately 12 steps from the
center of the stage, the SPL signals “EYES RIGHT.” Then take six (6) steps forward, column right,
then column left to the places for inspection.
As soon as the troops are approaching the stage, EMCEE announces that
troop____led by SPL (NAME OF SCOUT) of the (NAME OF
THE SCHOOL).

XI. INPECTION
As soon as the troops and kawans are assembled in their respective places,
over-all SPL signals “OPEN RANK FORMATION.” Then he reports to the Inpecting Officer,
saying: “Sir, the troops and kawans are ready for inspection.”
The Inspecting Officer goes to the different troops and kawans and inspect their
alignment, uniforms, then ask a few question on their position in the troop and their unit
leaders. After the inspection, he returns to the stage.

XII. DISMISSAL OF TROOPS AND KAWANS


After the inpecting officer has returned to the stage, over-all SPL commands ‘
CLOSE RANK.” Then the troops march forward, then right flank and then to the place outside of
the parade ground. NO TROOPS OR KAWANS SHOULD BE DISMISSED INSIDE THE PARADE
GROUND.
