1.What do you understand of the term literacy?
- In my own understanding of the word literacy it is our ability to write, read and comprehend
something that we can use in our life. And literacy hels us understand and create meaning that we can
use to achieve our goals.
2. Are people today less literate than the people who used clay tablets to record their thoughts? Explain
your answer.
- For me the people in our generation right now are more literate than people before who used clay
tablets, because, now they have the ability to process information faster than before as their skills to
comprehend and understand are honed not just the ability to understand but also when in terms of
technology aspect. As everyone seems to be media/technology literates.
3. What about the generation that uses more gadgets than people who used paper and pen? Who do
you think is more literate?
- I must say that both are literate as ther have the ability to put their thoughts in action, but
technological speaking it depends on the people that uses gadgets because too much uses of technology
because sometimes can ruin us as we depend or rely too much on gadgets that somehow makes a
person less literate.
4. Which writing is the most difficult to learn for you? Why?
- I think formal way of writing is a bit difficult as it follows rules and should be organized for the
recipients/readers to fully understand what you want to say.
5. If you are a new to writing, would your answer in numbered 4 above be the same? Explain.
- Yes. Because for me it is a bit tricky because it have so much rules.
