 ( 2:9) The meaning of service in the church As Christians who believe Jesus Christ as their saviour and Lord of their life, we are all the body of Christ. Each part of the body has its uses, because different parts of the body have different duties. The gifts we received are used to serve God. We are a royal priesthood in Gods kingdom (1 Peter 2:9) the duty of a priest is to serve God in His Holy Temple. The church is Gods temple. We want to serve in this temple. Therefore the true meaning of serving is to repay the one who saved us, make us a living sacrifice to serve Him alone I
