Steam is one of the important forms of water which is used in food processing, medical and paramedical fields for sterilization. Production of steam is one of the tasks in this field and presently fuel dependant devices are used. This project is aimed at developing a small capacity steam generator for low capacity needs of various organizations. In this project, the concept of generating steam using Borosilicate Glass Tubes is used. Heat from the sun is made to fall directly on this tube, such that it absorbs heat and water is heated to a certain temperature to form steam. After heating water a separate system has been designed using Programmable Logic Controller. This sub system can be used to control temperature of water and the steam generated by the device.
