PRESENTATION
Opening paragraph: Hello and thank you for watching the presentation at time……….
From group 2, class 11a2, Lac Thuy C High School and I am………………………
I am ……………………………….
The person who will accompany you in the next few minutes. Let's start the program
with the following outstanding discoveries.
Ladies and gentlemen, with the theme of semester 1, we would like to bring you quite
outstanding information about "future cities" along with interesting entertainment
columns revolving around this topic.
With the above topic, we divide it into 3 main contents
First: Urban ways today
Second: Concept of future cities
And the last part 3 is: Main characteristics of future cities.
To understand more deeply about future cities, let's go into the first part: Urban ways
today.
Urban challenges today: Phenomenon
- Overpopulation: Rapid urbanization leads to congestion and housing shortages.
- Pollution: Air quality, waste management and carbon emissions pose risks to health and
the environment.
- Inefficient infrastructure: Outdated systems lead to inefficiencies in transport, energy
and resource management.
- Climate change: Cities are vulnerable to extreme weather events, rising sea levels and
heat island effects.
2: THE CONCEPT OF “FUTURE CITY”
- Future city is a vision of an urban environment that integrates advanced technologies,
sustainable operations and human-centered design to enhance the quality of life.
• These cities aim to address contemporary challenges such as climate change,
overpopulation, resource depletion and unplanned urbanization through innovation and
foresight.
3: Key features of future cities.
• SUSTAINABLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
+ Green buildings: Buildings with living walls, solar panels and energy-efficient design.
+ Zero emissions: Use of renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal) and energy-
efficient transport.
+ Waste management: Circular economy where waste is recycled, composted or
converted into energy.
+ Urban agriculture: Rooftop gardens and vertical farms to produce local food, reducing
transport costs and emissions.
• SMART INFRASTRUCTURE
- IOT integration (Internet of things):
- + Smart infrastructure, where traffic lights, street lamps and public services
communicate in real time to optimize energy use and resource allocation
- Data-driven cities:
+ Using big data to manage resources efficiently, predict urban needs and enhance urban
planning.
- Resilient infrastructure:
+ Buildings designed to withstand natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and
extreme weather, often using advanced materials such as self-healing concrete.
• TRANSPORTATION INNOVATION
- Self-driving vehicles:
+ Self-driving cars, buses and even drones for private and public transport.
- High-speed rail and hyperloops:
+ Faster, more energy-efficient inter-city transport to connect regions and reduce
congestion.
- Electric transport:
+ Cities will be dominated by electric vehicles (EVs), including buses, taxis and bicycles,
which will reduce air pollution.
Infrastructure: Walking and cycling
+ Cities will prioritize pedestrians and cyclists, with wide walkways, bike lanes and car-
free zones.
• SMART GOVERNANCE AND SOCIAL INNOVATION
- E-governance:
+ Cities will allow citizens to interact with government services through online
platforms, making processes such as voting, licensing and services more efficient.
- Collaborative communities:
+ Public spaces will promote social interaction and community activities, while housing
will be more affordable and adaptable through modular or 3D-printed homes.
- Inclusive design:
+ Urban areas will be designed to be accessible to people of all abilities, prioritizing
social equity and human well-being.
• ENERGY AND WATER EFFICIENCY
- Smart grid:
+ Energy-efficient grids will distribute energy based on demand, integrate renewable
energy and reduce waste.
- Water conservation:
+ Water recycling systems and rainwater harvesting technologies will be widely available
to reduce waste and support sustainable living.
- Energy-efficient buildings:
+ These buildings will produce more energy than they consume through solar power,
wind turbines and advanced insulation technologies.
• HEALTH AND WELLNESS
- Telemedicine:
+ Energy efficient grids will distribute energy based on demand, integrate renewable
energy and reduce waste.
-Urban design for well-being:
+ Public spaces will encourage physical activity, mental relaxation and social
engagement through green parks, pedestrian paths and recreational areas
- Air quality monitoring:
+ Real-time monitoring systems will track air quality and pollution levels, with efforts to
maintain clean and healthy cities.
• NATURE INTEGRATION
- Biophilic design:
+ Bringing nature into cities will become more common, with green spaces such as
parks, tree-lined streets and vertical forests contributing to cleaner air and better mental
health.
- Riverside development:
+ Coastal or riverside cities can build flood-resistant or floating architecture, embracing
water rather than fighting it.
• TECHNOLOGIES OF THE CITY OF THE FUTURE
- Artificial Intelligence (AI):
+ AI will optimize city services, including traffic management, energy distribution, and
emergency response.
- 3D printing: Used to build homes, repair infrastructure, and even produce food.
- Quantum computing:
+ Has the potential to revolutionize the way cities process and analyze data for planning
and daily operations.
- Augmented reality (AR):
Enhance urban experiences by providing real-time information about locations, traffic,
and events.
