A reminder about expectations: Learning, respect and safety
Procedures
Google Classroom
Classwork and homework will be assigned on Google Classroom. (Google classroom code

b. Digital tasks (google docs, etc) need to be turned in on Google Classroom by the
due date
Hard Copy Worksheets Glue completed work in exercise book
3. Note Taking
Take notes in your exercise book
Exercise books will be checked periodically for completion (every first Friday and
every second
Monday)
Class expectations: Admin and classwork
Complete all assigned classwork in class
Complete all assigned homework by the due date.
Next science lesson, unless otherwise mentioned
Check Google Classroom DAILY for classwork/announcements
Class merits
Class Merits can be earned through a variety of ways:
Exceptional consideration for others
Excellence in class tasks/assignments
Significant improvement in classwork/behaviour
Consequences
When class expectations are not met, consequences will follow:
Recess/Lunch detention
Conversation with the head teacher
Phone call to parents
Monitoring cards
What do you bring to Science class?
Check that you are bringing the following equipment

Closed leather shoes (If you are not in the correct
footwear, you may not be allowed to do the practicals)
Exercise book
Planner/Diary
Writing materials (Pens, pencils)
Ruler (non-metal ones)
Gluestick
Scissors
Eraser
Coloured pencils or textas
Safety goggles (You can bring your own from your
BBHS book pack. You can also borrow school ones on
the day)
A Science Lab - “Spot the difference”
Science Laboratories contain various items that may be different to a regular
classroom.
Have a look at the images from the next few slides, and write down all the things
that can
only be found in a Science lab.
Spot the difference between a science lab and a regular classroom.

Lab Safety - Why is it important?
Lab Safety Form
Safety is the number one priority!
Being safe means we get to do more
experiments because we can be trusted to be
responsible.
Follow the teachers instructions at all times.
You will be given a copy of this
form to sign during your first
Science lesson.
