Expectations in the Classroom

Lab Safety

Lateness
• Make sure you arrive to lessons on time.

you are late (nobody is perfect)
• Time wasted with lateness will be made up after lessons
When you enter the Classroom
• Be ready to learn!
• This means you will need:
• your exercise books,
• pens/pencils,
• Planner / notes etc
During the lesson
• Register in silence
• When I am talking, you are not!
• Do not wander around
• Do not interfere with others learning
Class Ethos
• We are all here to learn.
• Trying and failing is OK.
• We all learn from our mistakes.
• More successful people are ones who tried their best and learnt from
their experiences.
• We should all make the effort to try in all situations, even if it is
difficult (including class, prep and assessments)
Prep
• Prep will be set at least once a week.
• You will be expected to complete all homework set.
• Failure to do so will lead to a detention – to complete
the work.
Safety
• All of these rules are so that we can have a safe
classroom
• In a safe classroom we can all have a good time and
learn
• Now that you have read and listened to the rules,
there should be no excuses
• If you are fair with me, then I will be fair with you
Class books:
• Each of you will receive a class book for Science lessons.
• Please bring this every lesson.
• Write:
Your name and House
Your Class
My Name
This means if your book is misplaced, it will either get back to you, or to
me.
Textbooks:
• Each of you will receive a textbook for Science lessons.
• Write: Your name and house on the inside.
• Each book has its own unique number (on the bottom). This is the
book that must be returned at the end of the year.
• I will track this number and your name here
