Date To From Subject September 6th, 2011 All CRLP Personnel Dr. Fred Dick Cancer Research Laboratory Program Seminar Series: 2011-2012
Cancer Research Laboratory Program London Regional Cancer Program 790 Commissioners Road East London, ON, Canada N6A 4L6

It is time once again to begin another year of seminars within the CRLP community. As in the past, the goal of this forum is for presentations to stimulate discussion and make each other aware of our work. Presenters should aim for a 20 to 25 minute presentation. Given the broad diversity of approaches ranging from experimental models of cancer and cells to imaging and chemistry, I think it is appropriate to give a general introduction that includes an explanation of how your work fits into the broader world of cancer research. Please make an effort to include this in your introduction. Its also a good rule of thumb to clearly state the purpose, or hypothesis, underlying your work at the end of your introduction before describing your experiments and what youve found. The seminar series will be held on Thursdays in conference room A3-924, London Regional Cancer Program, at 4:00. The schedule for the 2011-2012 Cancer Research Laboratory Program Seminar Series is attached. A master copy will be posted on the bulletin board in the link between the VRL and LRCP on the 4th floor. Please note the date that you are scheduled for, and confirm that your supervisor will be available to attend. If this date is not suitable, it is up to you to switch dates with someone else on the list. This is easier done far in advance of your scheduled date, so I suggest that YOU start early if you need to change dates. Please mark changes on the master copy posted on the bulletin board. I have tried to ensure that individuals from the same lab do not speak on the same day and that this schedule does not overlap dates for which the Translational Series has scheduled external speakers. A title for your seminar will be due at least one week prior to your seminar and should be provided to Barb Lowery at Barbara.Lowery@lhsc.on.ca. I will introduce the first speakers in the series and lead the questions following their presentations. In the following weeks, the speaker from the previous week will be responsible for these duties. An LCD projector and remote will be available in the conference room.
