Heartless They called him heartless, said he wasnt able to feel.

Though in reality that wasnt the case; Noah Turner just didnt have any emotions left to feel. He had been through them all. He could still remember her smile, her dashing smile that could light up anything. When he closed his eyes he could still hear the joy of her laughter. He could still feel the warmth of her touch. She had been everything to him. Diana Westley had been her first and only love. He had met her as he travelled around the world, in his early days as a vampire. King Artemious had requested that the future king should meet up with the European Nobility. Even though he would rule them all in his future, it could never hurt to have acquaintances around the world. The various courts around the world had all welcomed him. They had been impressed by his strength, and his already intense skills in fighting which King Artemious didnt hesitate to bring forth to show. He had seen her fragile human body for the first time on that journey. She had been young, barely a teenager, though he could hear her thoughts more clearly, and her heartbeat called to him. He hadnt presented himself before years after, when he travelled to find her. She had been too young for him still; however their friendship grew in the weeks he stayed. She had trusted him, and was sad when he bid his goodbye, and left with the promise of returning as soon as possible. The next part always hurt Noah to think about. It pained him, and he knew that nothing could ever take that pain away. He had been delayed in going back to her, so when he finally arrived it was too late, she had been ill for a long time, and only the joy of her life, her daughter, had been able to keep her fighting for so long. With a broken heart and spirit he left and never looked back. It pained him to see an exact replica of Dianas beautiful eyes stare up at him. When he arrived home he had gone rogue. Not straying from his path, however he was only controlled by bloodlust. He wanted nothing, and no one in the world to ever experience the worlds biggest happiness, just to have it ripped away before it burst into the perfect life. Noah wiped away the bloody tear that slipped down his cheek. He rarely allowed himself to think of her. His selfcontrol was immense, and now he wanted nothing more than just to forget again. Noah? Is something wrong? Roxanne said from behind him. Slowly he turned around to face his sister. Her blue eyes held worry, and he forced a smile to his lips. She didnt need to know. It was his burden to bear. I am just lost in thoughts about some of the royal affairs. He lied, and somehow he managed to sound believable enough for Roxanna to back off. He knew she was troubled with her relationship issues. Being in love with a human wasnt the easiest thing to do. She had tried to gather the courage to turn him in years, and now he was physically looking older than her by a few years. This troubled the two of them more than they would let on in front of him. Never the less, he enjoyed staying at her house to just switch off. Roxanne sat down a cup of blood coffee in front of him. Is it something you want to talk about? She asked, as she sat down across from him. Theoretically he really wanted to; however he couldnt do it. Instead he just shook his head and looked out of the window. His train of thoughts was interrupted by the familiar feeling of being called upon; only one vampire could do that, so Noah knew not to ignore it. King Artemious was not a patient man.

I have to go. The king is calling for me. Noah informed Roxanne, she tried to hide the disappointed look in her eyes, but he saw it briefly. Dont be a stranger. I miss you around here Noah. She said and hugged him goodbye.

---I need you to go to the European Novelties. King Artemious said. Noahs expression became pained as he silently begged with his eyes, for the king to not do this. I am aware that you still are troubled from last time you set your foot there; however I wont accept a refusal of this particular quest. He continued. Noah couldnt hold his gaze; it was the king who had finally made him snap out of his blood haze last time, by compelling the feelings down. He couldnt make them go away, without altering with his memory. Doing this could be fatal for any vampire. Yes my king. Noah swallowed a nonexistent lump. I expect you to go to the Nobilities of Denmark. There seems to be troubles there which involve a blood slave. Shes one of the rare, so she will have to survive and be kept safe. This is of the uttermost importance. Do I make myself clear? The power in the kings voice forced Noah to look up. Yes, my king. I understand. Noah agreed. You may be dismissed. King Artemious said and turned away as a signal for Noah to leave. _____

Noah felt a sting as he saw the land underneath, he recognized Copenhagen airport. King Artemious had planned the trip ahead, and Noah hadnt gotten any opportunity to think it over or mentally prepare himself for the sights of Denmark. As the plane landed he looked out at the Danish flag that waved mockingly to him in the air. The red and white flag had haunted his thoughts since last he set his foot here. The vampire Lord Janus of Denmark had sent a car to pick him up. As he sat in the car he tried to shake his feelings aside, he was here on official vampire kingdom business. Ah, welcome to my humble home Majesty. The lord greeted as soon as he stepped out of the car. Noah gave him a polite nod, and followed after the lord into the big white mansion. Please, take a seat your Majesty, can I get you anything before we get discuss business? Lord Janus asked, and motioned for a servant to bring forth the tray he had made them prepare beforehand. No thank you. Noah declined. Even though his nerves could certainly need something, he was more eager to leave than to accept anything that might prolong his stay here. Ah I see. Always business before pleasure, isnt that right? Lord Janus stated more than asked. Noah wasnt feeling overly talkative, so he just nodded briskly and motioned for him to start. Sitting down opposite him, he folded his hands in front of him.

The deal is, we have taken a blood pet in, she has known about vampires her whole life, and sought us out. When she came here, she was repeatedly attacked by two of my creations. She would have been dead by now if it werent for me and my policy of not needing to kill our victims. He looked Noah straight in the eyes as he said this in a serious tone. Now my two sons are fighting over her, claiming her to be theirs. The problem here is that she wont tell who made a claim over her first, and since Im very fond of her I wont force her. So we called upon the king to solve our problem. He met her last year, and grew a liking to her too. So I knew that if anyone could solve this it would be him. He finished and waited for Noah to reply. I see, I have orders to keep her safe, and if its not possible under these circumstances I will be forced to take her with me. Noah said. Lord Janus nodded briefly and motioned for him to follow. ----Never in his life had Noah seen two vampires fight so intense over one human. They were brothers before they were turned, and yet they still regarded each other with hate. He had yet to see the human that caused all of this, and he had to admit that he was slightly interested by now. Christian! Jakob! Stop this, now! Lord Janus commanded, and both of them clapped as clams. They both looked at their maker with fear in their eyes. Noah noticed this, and he sympathized with them. They both knew what it meant to have him here. Bring forth the girl. Lord Janus said, and Noah sat up straight. His eyes widened as he saw the girl that had caused all of this. Her red hair sparkled in the light from the chandelier. She came in with her head bowed. Noah hurried to recompose himself, before Lord Janus or the brothers noticed his reaction. Child, come forth and bow for the future leader of our kind. Lord Janus voice was softer now as he addressed the girl. It was clear that she was adored by all the males in the house. The girl bowed for Noah, and he cringed seeing her address him with so formality, he never really liked that. You will go with him, child. He will take care of you now and make sure you are safe. Lord Janus said, with sadness in his voice. Her eyes shot up at Noah, and he had to restrain himself to not hurry to her side. We will leave immediately. He declared, not wanting to be here. He despised this quest and this country. He rose from his chair. I thank you for your hospitality; I apologize for cutting it short. However my presence is needed elsewhere. He nodded to them all, and went out. When he finally could feel the fresh air on his face he let out a breath. This couldnt be possible. He must be seeing things. He blamed the country. He blamed himself. He even blamed King Artemious. If only he could Noah stopped himself before finishing that thought. He had better self-control than this. Running towards a beautiful clearing surrounded by large tree, he punched one of the trees with all his might. It didnt hurt enough, and he screamed in

frustration. He could see the door to the mansion from here. Both of the brothers hugged her goodbye, bloody tears streaming down their cheeks. He ran towards the car and let himself inside. He remained staring out of the window as she took the seat next to him. He didnt breathe, and he didnt acknowledge her in any way. ---It wasnt until they were both seated in the plane and already in the air that he tapped into her thoughts. .. This guy seems to hate me I wonder what I did, to deserve this He looks very yummy Noah hurried to tap out of them again, and he was sure that if he had still be alive, his cheeks would be the color of a fire truck. I do not hate you. He murmured very low, needing to say it out loud, however still hoping that she wouldnt hear. You act like you do. She answered, and his head snapped around to take in her features. Her hair framed her face in waves, and her big brown eyes looked up at him with curiosity. You just remind me of someone. Sorry. He said, and managed to look away once more. I am sorry Master. She mumbled, and looked away. Noah cringed at this, she shouldnt call him that. This was even worse than majesty. Call me Noah. He said, though it came out more of a command. She stayed silent, and after a while Noah grew tired of the silence. Whats your name? He asked. My name is Maja Westley. She answered quietly. Are you by any chance related to a Diana Westley? Yes, why? Maja asked. Thats who you remind me of. He clarified and indicated that this conversation was over. He wasnt trying to be mean on purpose. He just couldnt help the pain inside himself that threatened to tear him up if he just slipped up one little bit. Noah looked over at her as she sat across from him. Her eyes were closed, and a light snore erupted from her. She looked peaceful. She must have been exhausted for her to fall asleep so fast. Janus had mentioned that she had sought out the vampires. Noah wondered how she came to know about them. He sighed in frustration and her scent wrapped around him. He hadnt fed this week. His fangs became visible, and he had to hold himself back. Her chest rose with every breath she took. The red sweater she was wearing bared her shoulder. A few freckles were careless strewn across it, and Noah found himself trying to count them. He had to get away from her; they had barely had a conversation. Still, already now, his self-control was tested beyond his limits.

The plane to Sydney seemed to drag on forever. Maja slept almost the whole trip, and Noah had a hard time focusing on anything else than the sleeping girl in front of him. The most he had managed was reading approximately five sentences in his book. The resemblance was striking. He had to repeatedly remind himself that it wasnt Diana. You are staring. Her mumbled voice came, as she let out a yawn and sat up straight. You could be her twin. He stated and looked away from her. I am sorry for your loss. She whispered. He didnt know how to answer to that. I know about you Noah. She continued. This got his attention. He looked at her, waiting for her to continue. If its any help, she loved you very much. However many people didnt believe you even existed. She cried for days when she found out she was to be married away. She explained. How do you know this? Noah asked surprised. Ive read her diary, it was found a few years back. And Im mentioned? Yes, on nearly every single page. I didnt get to see her before she passed away. Noah admitted, and he felt slightly better to get some of his pain of his chest. I am very sorry. Did you know what she called her daughter? Maja asked. He shook his head. She called her Sydney, since that was where you were from. She never stopped hoping that youd find her again. Maja averted her gaze and looked at her hands, fiddling with one another. Thank you. Noah said. The pain slowly lifted with every word she spoke. He felt himself becoming happier with every word she uttered, whether it was the release of finally being able to talk about it or the fact that with the girl here, he could almost pretend that the last hundreds of years, werent wasted. You are welcome. I have it in my personal luggage if you want to read it. Her voice was calm, friendly and polite. Noah could feel that she wanted to please him. I dont think she would like that. He said, and scrunched his brows together. Actually, I think it would be the opposite, many of the entries in the diary, includes letters to you, which have some Ehm personal details in them. Maja said, and Noah could see her cheeks redden. That made him smile for the first time since he began this journey. Well then I would be honored. He said, and met her gaze. What will happen to me now? She asked and looked away.

I honestly dont know. The king only ordered me to keep you safe. So I guess youll stay with me until I receive other orders. He answered truthfully. That sounds fair enough. Do you have a house? She asked, and dared to look at him again, now visible more calm than just moments before. This confused Noah, seeming as this girl sought out the vampires, and yet still hadnt voiced or showed any fear, before this very moment. I have a few. He admitted. You dont sound too happy about that though. She pointed out. Being the next vampire leader, comes at the cost that there are only few people I can actually trust. So I dont have any special to share those houses with. This is why I often stay with my sister. He explained. So will we stay at your sisters place then? I dont think thats a good idea, shes having some issues at the moment. Noah replied. So itll be only the two of us? She asked without any fear, he could hear the slight excitement in her voice. I think that it will. He answered, and looked out of the window again. He didnt speak anymore on the plane ride, since his thoughts were confusing. He had gone from despising this, to actually somehow enjoying being in this girls presence. ----Noah led her up of the few stairs, and unlocked the door. He had picked one of the less fancy houses in the outskirts of Sydney. This is one of the quieter places I have, this way youll be able to roam around without being afraid of getting lost, or attacked. He said as he showed her the two story little house. Her scent still called to him, and he had to fight both the urge to reach out and touch her, and the hunger for a taste of her blood. This will become your room. He said and showed her the room he had picked out for her. This one had the sunrise to the east and the big bed in the middle held real Egyptian silk sheets. Its beautiful. She said and turned towards him. I will leave you to rest now. Noah said and turned to leave with a small nod. Wait! she called after him, he stopped. Ehm Where are you going? She asked. I am going to my office to see if I can get some work done. He answered. Oh. Her voice was barely a whisper, and Noah turned to see her standing awkwardly looking at the floor. Is something wrong? He asked. No Its just Ive always been scared of being alone the first few nights of a new house. She admitted with hesitation.

You want me to stay in the room with you? Noah asked surprised. If you dont mind that is. You dont have to. She answered. Let me get a book and Ill be right down, just go get ready for sleep. He said, and turned to leave. He had originally planned to go and eat, however the look on her face as she looked to the floor, had convinced him not to. He had to endure this. He knocked on her door a few minutes after, and after hearing her come in. He walked in to see her in one of his Tshirts. Im sorry, I didnt pack any nightwear. She apologized. Its okay. It suits you. He said, and took a seat in the chair furthest from the bed. Maja gave him a funny look, but lay down without uttering a word. He tried focus on the book; however the slow beat of her heart kept distracting him, and he found himself tapping his foot in the rhythm. Are you stomping to my heartbeat? she rolled around and faced him. Sorry. Noah became embarrassed. He needed food soon. Its okay. You seem hungry. She said. Its been a while since I fed. He admitted. Maja jumped out of the bed, and walked slowly towards him. She stopped in front of him. Do you want to feed from me? She asked and looked him in the eyes. Noah gulped at her boldness. That wouldnt be appropriate Maja. But I want you to. She said back. She staggered a little closer and sat down straddling his legs. You really shouldnt do Noahs voice cut short as she began to caress his face. I know about the blood rush. However I also know that you wont kill me. She said. I could do that. No you couldnt. I believe in you. She said, and bent her head, exposing her neck to him. His hand moved from his sides to her waist. He leaned in slightly. The movements made him take a look at her body. Her bare legs were spread on each side of him. His T-shirt only covered very little. She had no bra on and as he looked over her, he could see proof of the arousal he could smell on her. In the blink of an eye, his fangs sunk into her neck, as his hand caressed her right breasts. A moan escaped her. Noah lifted her with ease and took her over to the bed. He laid her gently down, not taking his lips from her neck. He lay down beside her, and as he continued to drink her blood, his hand wandered down her body. He enjoyed the shivers that he caused.

Her hands started wandering on his body. Her touch made his skin tingle, and soon he stopped drinking and took in her features. She leaned forward and slowly her lips touched his in what could barely be considered a peck. He watched as she once again blushed, and this sent him over the edge. He dove on her and had his hands, mouth and tongue everywhere. It didnt take long for the first climax to build, and several others followed soon after. He quickly swept himself inside her, and was careful not to harm her in any way. Her moans and screams, along with the heat from her body, sent sensational feelings through his body. It wasnt until he was close that he switched to a slow rhythm, making her look into his eyes as he did so. You will never leave my side. He said. I would never want to. She answered. He covered her mouth with his own in a passionate kiss, and as he finished quickly letting them both come in three quick strides, his mouth helped swallow the sound of her pleasure screams. He lay down next to her, and entwined her fingers with his own. Noah finally felt truly happy since the loss of Diana.
