With a spate of movie releases from big banners and spread across all genres the tinsel town had a busy and beautiful new year. It was an exciting month flooded with high grosses and abuzz with gossips. Economically it has been a profitable month for bollywood. Rising food prices did not stop people from catching up for their favourite stars movie. This was clearly seen when 3idiots released .Where Vidhu Vinod Chopra had told multiplexes to charge high price. Even with the high price film manage to broke all box office records and earned about 300 crore Plus in 18 days .3 idiots gathered a collection of about 315 crore after releasing in about 40 countries worldwide. The highest price of tickets in different for different multiplexes. This flick has a potential of earning 15-18 crore. It seems that the highest price of tickets in different Multiplexes could not affect the viewers even in times of inflation. With 3 idiots going house full and more money, a corporate culture, braver themes and a more money, a corporate culture, braver themes and a gamut of young stars the start of the new millennium ushered in a massive change for Bollywood. Movies released in january were Dulha Mil Gaya, Pyaar Impossible , Chance pe Dance, Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain,Veer , Ishqiya , Rann. Dulha Mil Gaya starring Sushmita Sen ,Shahrukh Kahn ,Fardeen Khan, Ishita Sharma. Even after having star cast ,this flick didnt do well. Fardeen has done ok performance on the other hand Sushmita Sen never looked so hot ever before, her comic timing is very good! Ishita Sharma who was last seen in a small cameo in film Dil ,Dosti Etc is extremely likable.This film didnt had anything fresh to offer the audince. Piggy Chopss Pyaar Impossible was the much awaited film, but it didnt happened that ways.Uday Chopra tried his hand in writing and Jugal Hans Raj in directing but both failed miserably .Priyanka Chopras looks were worth million

dollar ,but character was like hyper teenager.If at all Uday and Jugal worked more on script then on Priyankas styling film would have done better then expected. Shahid kapoor with his super duper hit film Kaminey ,his fans were really looking forward for his film Chance Pe Dance ,in one line this film was all about every talent need a chance to prove. Genelia Dsouza plays the role of upcoming choreographer ,with not so strong dailogues and not so strong screen presence. This flick takes on dancing theme ,trying to make us realise the struggle and hardwork done by every artist to reach their final destination!No where you would get emotionally attach with Samirs(Shahid) character.Like any other typical bollywood film in the end hero gets the fame money and girl! Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain..am sure lot of you guys must have not even heard of this film ,but ya it exists starring Makrand Anaspure, Rajpal Yadv, Preeti Mehra , Manoj Joshi , ketaki dave ,Ravi Jhankal,Bomi Dotiwala.This film had no big names attached to it ,Rajpal Yadv again prove to be great actor .Due to less publicity not many people got to know about this movie . Sallu Bhai , yes the real star of bollywood came up with Veer .Starring Salman Khan ,Sohail Khan , Mithun Chakroborty ,Jackie Shroff ,Zarine Khan ,Lisa Lazarus . Veer had big star, huge sets ,pumping action sequence but week screenplay.Story written by Salman Khan takes ideas from Taras bulba,adds Gladiator ,Conan The Barnarian ,Troy , Titanic and even Krant so while watching Veer youll the feel of all these flicks!!For watching film like Veer you need to be real Veer to sit through Veer colossal disappointment !! Dil to bacha hai je!! beautifully written lyrics by Gulzar. Starring Naseruddin Shah , Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan . Vishal Bharadwaj and Sabrina Dhawan has written and directored by Abhishek Chaubey. The is well executed ,will definitely keep you engage as to what next! Vidya Balan did

full justice to Krishna ,the sexy ,deceptive temptress who seduces both men cunnningly without losing her characters vulnerability.Naseeruddin Shah is charming as khalujaan,whos old style romance is beautifully capture in melodious track Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji .well!! it is atleast one time watch for sure . Rann Ram Gopal Verma itching to tell new story in his movie ,this time its media, exposing the game been played by media for their own interest and TRP! Ramu entered the newsrooms and also behind it and shows what actually goes in there and expose the politician industrialist media nexus .Rann is for people who enjoys serious cinema not for someone who is looking for frivolous cinema ! This was a quick sneak pee as to what is happening in tensil town, the hitz and flops of january 2010! Way to go bollywood with upcoming films like My Name Is Khan , Paathshala,Kites , Run Bhola Run.Lets just wait and watch who is going to be No1 this year!cheers! !
