Tree Diagrams
There are 3 red beads and 7 blue beads in a bag.
One bead is picked, but not replaced, then the experiment is repeated three times. Combined Probabilities

3) What is the probability of picking exactly 1 red bead out of the bag?
4) What is the probability of picking exactly 2 blue beads?
5) What is the probabilty of picking at least 2 red beads?
Notes on using worksheet.
Press F9 to change the values. Be careful not to press this/enter on a coded cell as this will change
if students are working on the current problem. The only way is to press F9 repeatedly untill your c
All fractions in the answers are given in simplest form, this may not always be helpful when studen
are picturing the fraction as the amount of beads out of the total beads in the bag.
Questions 3 and 4 are essentially the same question, a good discussion point.
The worksheet can be extended quite easily to consider P(X|Y) to make more challenging and fit w
