INTRODUCTION
On the pages that follow youll find details of how the Warhammer Fantasy Doubles Tournament will work. Please read them carefully, even if youve been to any other similar tournament, as there are specific rules for this Event. If you have any general questions regarding the event, please email or phone the Organizers. Note that Ignorance of these Specific Rules will not be an excuse. Only written responses from the Organizers will be deemed as official. Please contact us directly for all enquiries relating to matters of rules, pre-registrations, and all other event-related questions. Note that this Rules pack and its contents are subject to alteration and change at the Organisers discretion. Should a specific rule be queried or contended, it may be discussed further and an agreement shall be reached.

HOW THE TOURNAMENT WORKS:

You will need a 1500point army list to take part. An entry fee of R100.00 is required to participate in this event. Registration for the tournament will work via pre-registration. Email the Organisers Send to bhealey@umzalicivils.co.za. Teams do not win the tournament the prices will be for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place individual general due to players alternating there team members.

The entry fee will only be collected on the 1st day of the event during Registration. In the 1st round of games, teams will be matched randomly. After that, the Swiss System takes effect. (1st plays 2nd, 3rd vs. 4th, etc) Your team will be generated randomly in the first game after which the top teams players will be paired up with the bottom teams players. i.e. 1st Position player with the bottom of the log player 2nd position player with 2nd to bottom position player. You may get the same partner during the tournament if it works out that way as the chances of playing with the same partner and against the same team is very slim! Tables will be numbered. 1st and 2nd team will play table 1, 3rd and 4th team table 2 etc. To keep on schedule, we would appreciate it if you could play quickly and with determination. No time wasting please! Note The Schedule. These Times will be strictly adhered to! DONT BE LATE ON EACH DAY, THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. If you are more than 10 minutes late for the start of gaming Setup, your opponent may be re-assigned a new game and you will forfeit points and the game! Each table will be a pre-designed battlefield with fixed scenery. Re-positioning of the Scenery will not be tolerated.

The rules governing one army WILL extend to the other races in that combined army if applicable (ie. Spells targeting friendly troops). The tournament organisers interpretation will be final. Armies must follow all the restrictions on army selection Special Characters may NOT be used Only the armies listed below may be used Only those options listed in the relevant Army Book publication may be used. Dogs of War armies may NOT be used Warhammer Armies: Storm of Chaos and Warhammer Realms: Lustria may NOT be used. You may use converted GW (Games Workshop) models Conversions must begin as GW models and contain a majority of GW components. If you have any doubts please contact the Organizers for clarification it is your responsibility to ensure you are using a valid army!

BATTLES:
The tournament consists of FOUR (4) games. The time limit for each full game is three and a half hours. Again, refer to The Schedule. All games will be played using the traditional Warhammer Scenario as described in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles Rulebook. See Schedule for notice of which Scenario will be played when. Only difference to scoring is Blood and Glory TURN 1, 2 = Massacre Win, TURN 3 = Crushing Win, TURN 4 = Major Win, TURN 5 = Solid Win, TURN 6 = Minor Win. If nobody wins after turn 6 the game is considered a Draw.

The Warm-Up Period

Before each battle start please spend up to 15 minute discussing with your new partner each others army lists and setting up ready for your battle ahead, this include setting up, showing your opponent all the models in your army and discussing terrain. The full time allotment for each full game remains fixed at 3.5 hours. Players are allowed to ask their opponent questions about the army and the rules that apply to the warriors and heroes in the army. After inspecting the armies both players should discuss the terrain for the battle and how each feels it will affect the models in play. They can also discuss any other rules points that they think may come up in the battle. Finally, both players should shake hands and then the battle can commence.

The Counts as Rule

An important principle in any GW Tournament is what you see is what you get or WYSIWYG. All this means is that unless you are using the counts as rule (see below), the miniatures used are assumed to have the weapons and equipment actually shown to the model.

Most of the time you should use the WYSIWYG rule above during your games. However, you may if you wish, decide that certain models in your army counts as something else from the army lists of roughly the same size and function. This is especially useful if you are using converted models, etc. Remember to let your opponent know which models are using the counts as rule when the game starts, to avoid confusion.

After the Battle

At the end of the game, both players may take time to review their opponents roster. Players are allowed to ask their opponent questions about the army and should call an Organizer if any issues arise from inaccuracy or inappropriate use of the roster during the game.

Awards Ceremony:
The awards ceremony will take place as soon as possible after the conclusion of the 4th game.

There will be numerous awards. Prizes will include for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall positions and the soon to be famous White Gold Award. In addition, other awards will be made available at the discretion of the organisers. Please remember to help pack up to ensure everyone gets home safely and quickly.

PENALTIES:
As the purpose of this event is that people have fun playing their favourite game, acting in an unsporting or unfriendly way will be frowned upon. If the Organisers become aware of anyone acting in this way then those players will be asked to play in an appropriate manner, and if they dont they will be penalised. Inappropriate behaviour includes asking picky rules questions, consistently breaking or bending the rules in your favour, or acting in an annoying or aggressive manner. The organisers will be more lenient in the event of a breakdown in the teamwork and sportsmanship between players of the same team. However, if the event that such a breakdown results in a complaint by the opposing side or is clearly resulting in time wasting, the appropriate card will be shown to that team. Players that have been asked to play in a sporting manner and who fail to do so will be penalised through a simple Yellow and Red Card system, as follows:

Yellow Card:
Initially, for the most common offences, the Organisers will give the offending player(s) a Yellow Card and deduct 10 points from their Tournament Points Score. Here are some examples of Yellow Card offences; this list is by no means exhaustive but provided to give you a clear guide to our expectations:

Argument between teams that is obviously disrupting the game and/or event Discussing the ongoing game with a non-playing bystander (discussing tactics and so on) Excessive time wasting. Excessive use of offensive language, gestures or other inappropriate behaviours.

Red Card:
Players who either continue to offend or who commit the most serious offences will be given a Red Card. A Red Card will result in a 20 point deduction. Any further offence, whether a Yellow or Red Card issue, will lead to a player who has been previously shown a Red Card to be excluded from the tournament. Red Card offences include, but are not limited to: Argument with an Organiser Blatant cheating in a game Receipt of a second Yellow Card

Exclusion:
Players that continue to argue with an Organiser, who continue to offend after being shown a Red Card, or who act in an especially unpleasant or violent manner will be asked to leave the tournament and not return. The decision of the Organisers is final, and no discussion will be entered into. No refunds will be issued to players who are excluded. Exclusion offences include:

Receiving a second Red Card for an offence Persistent argument with the Organisers

Any act of violence, extreme and unseemly behaviour, or extremely inappropriate language Failure to correct an illegal army roster

Roster Penalty:
Playing with an illegally constructed army is something that wont be tolerated, even if the mistake is a totally honest one. To keep things simple and to demonstrate the seriousness of this issue, the roster penalty will be applied to any player found with an illegal roster. The roster penalty will be a deduction of 10 tournament points from every game played so far using the offending list during the tournament, including the current one. The Organisers will discuss the changes that are needed to correct the roster with the player concerned. Failure to comply with the decision will lead to Exclusion.
