Champassak province attracted 298,024 tourists during the first five months of this year
and earned more than US$35 million from tourism.
Information from Champassak’s Information, Culture and Tourism Department
showed that the number of tourists visiting the province is increasing. The province has
set a target of receiving 350,958 tourists this year.
The tourists who visited the province during the first five months of this year included
136,596 domestic tourists, 45,747 tourists who came through the land border, and 115,681
international tourists.
Recently, officials from the Information, Culture and Tourism Department organised
many activities to attract more domestic and foreign tourists, including the annual Vat
Phou festival, Bolaven Plateau coffee and tea festival, Lao New Year celebrations and
