Software developers from all around the world gathered in Anaheim, California for a great conference held by Microsoft named BUILD Conference from 13thSep to 16th Sep. it was not only a consultation to guide developers but they also unveiled some world-shattering features of windows8. Windows 8 which happen to be successor of windows7 is not only going to be a refreshment in windows7 but a giant increase in technology, look and feel in fact it is a drastic big change in windows family line up. According to different people and experts it is come to known that Windows8 is the most critical platform of the windows era and it is a big achievement for Microsoft. They have come up with a great challenge for its competitors. Now the actual war will begin. Many of the developers in the conference and even before were worrying about, that they are going to be out with new technologies and new environment for development. Like people who were using C# or visual basic for windows development conjecture that now its time for new developers with JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 and .NET will end by new runtime environment. The answer to all these questions is yes. The style, technology and requirement have been changed, time has changed for developers but at the same time no programming language or style will come to an end. Microsoft always held its developers in high esteem. Developers can use any programming languages for their ease and comfort. But the main thing which has been changed is the style of apps, now the every app for windows8 will be of Metro style app. Each developer has to follow the certain rules and regulations for developing apps. Metro style apps are full screen apps tailored to your users needs, tailored to the device they run on, tailored for touch interaction, and tailored to the Windows user interface. Windows runtime is there to help you out for developing apps using the languages you know. The core functionality of windows runtime is to develop metro style apps in small API surface. If youre a web developer and want to create any metro app you can use HTML5, CSS3 for rich and excellent user interface while JavaScript can be used for the logic of app and you have ability to call it into the Windows Runtime to access the rich capabilities of the hardware. And if you are traditional developer of Microsoft using C++ there is no problem with it either you can create metro style apps by using Microsoft DirectX and Microsoft High Level Shader Language (HLSL) to take control of the devices graphics stack and full advantage of the graphics hardware. And if you are a .NET Framework developer, you can create Metro style apps using Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) markup for the user interface, with C#, Visual Basic, or C++ for app logic and calls into the Windows Runtime. I know it would be little bit uncomfortable for you guys but at the same time we should think that this step was mandatory for Microsoft. Microsoft is not being irrational or not giving respect to elder developers and even not kicking them out but things are getting change and platform are being changed now. Microsoft is facing constant challenges; it has to get change by now. It has to revolutionize its approach in its technology stack, its market approach and its corporate culture to compete the race. But Microsoft always helped its developers, always guided them in all the way of transition. It will be challenge and great fun for developers too to work in new era of development with Windows8.

All big companies do have their own strategy which they hide from their customers. But in my point of view you all need to understand their motives as its youre right. Now the question is what they hide from you guys. To maintain their place and main drive they instigate new products and services and push you to buy them which generally dont fit your needs. Why do they do such tactics? The company motive is not to sell their new services and products but to save their core objective. Im not saying all these facts on my own its a takeaway from latest speak by Gartner talk in Australia reported by IT news. In a speech at Gartner Symposium on the Gold Coast Analyst Dennis Gaughan brought the premeditated plans of the four major vendors in our IT industry. To your surprise these four major vendors are IBM, Microsoft, SAP and Oracle. Now I will tell you the plans of each of them. First if we talk about IBM. Their core business is to sell consulting services not the products but to sell their services they push you to buy their products first. Then they keep you engaged in buying their services to maintain your products. IBM account managers hold their IT strategy and manipulate it in such a way that company may be able to lead all their campaigns in market with high revenue. Did you notice it before? Now you need to evade being supervised by IBM to do this keep joint and partner approach. Now we come to Microsoft. Microsoft is a complete platform with clear and instinct strategy but not translucent to its customers. Many of us know that Microsoft core business is Windows and Office their main drive is to save both of them and earn revenue on large scale. To save their main object they introduce many of the new products to capture large market share. Main competitors of Microsoft are Apple and Google. Apple is going to be more in mobile centric devices so windows are save to some extent but Google is after office they have launched Google docs and making it better and better would they be able to capture Microsoft market share. Microsoft has market growth in cloud, business and mobile applications. Lets say if we talk about Lync and share point all these major products are just to save Microsoft core business but you as a consumer get trapped by their strategy. Speaker asked consumers not to get slipped by allMicrosoft strategy. Always be thoughtful how much you are spending with them. Now we come to SAP. SAP is one of the largest resellers of oracle database. SAP earns recurring profit from its profitable application base and many of its consumers are always worried about its pricing and licensing because their terms and conditions are always unusual. According to speaker in the last few years SAP was able to earn lots of profit only because of its transition from old R/3 system to the newer Business Suite which is now done. Now how will company earn money, it is obvious they will be violent now about maintenance fee, the only thing you can do is locking in maintenance. Negotiate with them and bargain on the price of support and maintenance with the purchase of any product. Now the last vendor is Oracle who is purely interested in earning money. They sell complete business suite but dont provide integration they expect consumers to do all integration on their own end. While on the other hand SAP is better in providing product integration. The motive behind to sell suites is not to provide customers fully engineered system to ease them but the real object is to buy them together. And another earning source is their maintenance fee; they charge you a lot for the products maintenance. Despite of all these facts about Oracle customers continue to work with them they invest their money along with compelling that oracle is the most difficult vendor to deal with.

The main idea is to improve better vendor relationship if you invest your money you should be a part of their strategies. Ask them to get innovation not finding a way to improve shares and wealth.

Future of Processors
Processors have met their limit still you have very efficient processors in your desktop and notebooks but we are never contended. Intel is there to make revolutions in processor technology. Ivy Bridge is the new project by Intel which is going to launch in near future it is expected that it will release in April 2012.The traditional flat two-dimensional planar gate is reinstated with revolutionary slim three-dimensional silicon fin called Tri-Gate. Intel is focusing on improved graphics and less power consumption. In previous ones there was only one gate on the fin to control the current but now you will find three gates two on sides of fin and one at the top. This change will now allows the current to pass in best possible way when transistor is on state this will lead to better performance and when transistor is in off state it get close to zero and it will lead to less power consumption moreover change between 2 states would be very easy and quick. So you guys will find best ever performance in your i5 and i7 desktops. And it is also reported that these chips use more efficient 22nm technology while in previous ones (Sandy Bridge) there were 32nm technology. There will be addition of new graphic core, the core would provide HD Graphics 4000 features an enhanced AVX acceleration along with PCI-Express Gen 3.0 and it will definitely help users to play games and have better graphic experiences with full support of DirectX 11 and OpenCL 1.1. It means the i5 will be actually Quad-core plus Turbo Boost and i7 will be Quad core with Hyper Threading virtually it will look Oct-core plus Turbo Boost and with 8MB L3 cache. This i7 will give tough competition to the existing i7-2600 computer but I must say there should be no comparison between them surely new one is revolution and has no comparisons. And your desktop will require less capability to despite heat it means they will more power efficient because a 19 percent lower TDP will require fewer fans or slower RPM than existing Sandy Bridge. The whole story shows the Intel enthusiasm and long term plan towards efficiency and performance. In future Intel will come up with latest technologies making your chips itself an intelligent piece. But still there are some questions which are unanswered in case of notebooks, that how Ivy Bridge will translate to i3 and mobile chips, the only information which is available by now is i3 would be virtually Quad core. Spokesperson in Intel said Next year you will see more models of Ultra Books being launched. We expect sales volume to go up but no other information is leaked so far. We will update you as new information comes in this perspective. Intel tried to make some process improvement every year, but to me the major success this time is graphic improvements which will definitely provide rich experience to the gamers specially.
