The Collect
Almighty and everlasting God, who in your tender love towards the human race sent your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ to take upon him our flesh and to suffer death upon the cross: grant that we may follow the example of his patience and humility, and also be made partakers of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Children's Church Unfortunately no Childrens Church coordinators are available today; however, some craft activities have been left in Matthew for use by children who would otherwise have attended. Childrens Church will resume next week, on Easter Sunday.

It will resume on Thursday 19 April, 2.00-3.15pm. SPECIAL SERVICES and EVENTS Dont miss tomorrows concert by the Cathedral Choir (Girls, Boys and Men) : Monday 2 April, 1pm - Allegris Miserere and Part 2 of Handels Messiah, both reflective and emotional pieces for Holy Week. Admission 5. The second Dean's Dinner is on Saturday 12 May 2012 - please join us for a very special black tie candlelit dinner with a royal and international flavour. The fund-raising dinner will raise money for the Cathedral heritage and music programme, with a royal theme in honour of the 60th anniversary of the accession of Her Majesty the Queen to the throne. The Queen's Jubilee anniversary inspires a luxurious four course meal with a truly international flavour, reflecting the Commonwealth of nations and the multi-cultural life of the city of Birmingham. Guests will be welcomed to the Cathedral by the sounds of live dhol drummers. The decor of the Cathedral will reflect the colours of the Commonwealth and guests will be treated to a showcase of music from royal occasions from the Cathedral Choir . Tables of ten are 1,000, seats are also available individually. Those wishing to vote must have their names on the Electoral Roll by April 15. Forms are available from Mary Trumper, the vergers or the Church Wardens. The next Lunching Alone event will take place on Easter Sunday (8 April) after the 11am service. All welcome, however it would be appreciated if those wishing to attend would inform Frances Buchanan or Noreen Murray to allow them to book a table. National 12 bell striking competition. The Birmingham bell ringers were successful in the eliminator round held at Kidderminster on Saturday, 24 March, coming top in their group. They now go on to the finals to be held in Melbourne, Derbyshire, on Saturday 23rd June, where, as current holders, they will be defending their title. Alison in the Cathedral Office is leaving Birmingham to join the Community of the Sisters of the Church and has a large two seater couch and accent tub chair which are only a year old, and a pair of custom made curtains also a year old to sell -she can't take them with her.
