1. CLIENT'S REQUIREMENTS
The management of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro requires the construction of a comprehensive
perimeter fencing system to improve the security, boundary demarcation, and aesthetic
appearance of its campus. The primary requirements specified by the client include:

- Erection of a durable perimeter fence enclosing the entire institution's boundary.


- Integration of standard entrance/exit gates at strategic locations.
- Provision of security observation posts at major gates.
- Installation of barbed wire or electric security wire atop the fence for added protection.
- Ensure minimal disruption to existing structures and environmental preservation.

2. SPECIFICATION
**Fence Type:**
- Reinforced concrete block wall fence
- Height: 2.4 meters (8 feet)
- Thickness: 225mm

**Foundation:**
- Depth: 600mm minimum
- Width: 450mm
- Concrete mix ratio: 1:2:4 (Cement:Sand:Granite)

**Block Work:**
- Sandcrete blocks (9 inches)
- Cement-sand mix (1:6) with proper curing

**Columns and Beams:**


- Reinforced concrete columns at 3-meter intervals
- Concrete lintels/beams at top for rigidity

**Security Features:**
- Razor wire or electric wire to be fixed atop
- 3 Security gates (main gate and two side gates) with security booths

**Finishes:**
- Smooth rendering on both sides
- Weather-resistant external paint

**Drainage:**
- Provision of surface drains along the fence to prevent water accumulation
