Medical college chowk

Dera Ghazi Khan has eight government colleges, two Degree college for boys, two Degree colleges for women, one commerce college and one technical college, both mixed for boys and girls. Several private sector colleges also exist in the city. Ghazi Medical College has been established since 2010 in Dera Ghazi Khan. Medical classes have been started from 30th March 2012. Niaz Ahmed Baloch has been appointed as a principal of Ghazi Medical College. Ghazi Medical and Dental College has been developed as a state of the art medical institution imparting accredited and approved medical education and research. The D.H Hospital and Research Institute, which will be a research oriented teaching hospital, will fulfill the requirement of training and research of medical students. The curriculum of Ghazi Medical and Dental College will be in line with the PM&DC regulations and international health standards in producing community and research oriented doctors who will be competent to deal with the common health problems of the people in a scientifically sound and cost effective manner, using the appropriate technology and holistic approach. Its graduates will be able to assume leadership in a health care team and will communicate effectively as a good clinician in accordance with the code of medical ethics. UAF College of Agriculture (constituent college of University of Agriculture Faisalabad) near the airport imparts training in the degree of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. The college consists of teaching sections of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil and Forestry Range Management and Wildlife, Agricultural Entomology, Plant Pathology, Animal Production and Health, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Social Sciences and Rural Development. University Building

The government of Punjab has established a state of the art Ghazi University in D.G.Khan since 2011. The Govt. Postgraduate college, Bzu sub campus, Agriculture college and Ghazi Medical College will work under this university. In order to improve the academic facilities of remote areas, former Governor of Punjab Lt General (Rtd) Khalid Maqbool opened up sub campuses of the public sector universities with a vision to transform them into independent universities in future. With this vision in mind D.G.Khan sub campus was established in 2004 by Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. The campus has grown from one department to five departments within a span of just five years with many new departments in pipeline as well. The goal of the campus has always been to produce quality rather than quantity. Focus has always been to develop close liaison with the industry, for this regular industrial visits are arranged. Eminent regional as well as national business leaders are invited to give regular seminars. To orient students with professional knowledge internships are arranged for the students. Programs that are currently being conducted are MBA, BBA (Morning and Evening), MBA Executive, MBA-IT, MCS, MSc Economics and MA English. Recently, the campus has added a new program of MSc Sociology. Programs like BS(CS), BS(IT), MIT and MCS(Evening) are in pipeline. Along with new programs the university is thinking about starting new departments like Biotechnology, Statistics, Environmental Studies, Mass Communication and Performing Arts. The campus is currently equipped with a state of the art computer lab. The lab also includes the facility of HEC Digital library. Soon a new computer lab with the latest machines will also be established along with a high speed DSL. The campus in near future will be operating Wi-Fi technology. Video conferencing will be available to the students in the future as well. The library includes all reference books of the courses that are being conducted as well as other books. An improvement of the library is also in process. Students will be provided with latest edition of well reputed journals. A unique joint degree program with international universities for the students of the university is also under consideration. This would greatly improve the academic as well as the communication skills of the students.

Ghazi University Chowk

The government has established Akhuwat University of Engineering and Technology in Dera Ghazi Khan since 2012. The university will be established on 351 kanals and will offer courses in Engineering, Veterinary Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Communication Science and Management Science. The Virtual University of Pakistan has established its campus here since 2004 which is providing both campus based and distance learning education primarily based on IT tools and technology. There are also sub-campuses of BZ University Multan and University of Education, and the UAF College of Agriculture (constituent college of University of Agriculture Faisalabad). Another prominent educational organization is the Allama Iqbal Open University Campus. Recently Government of Punjab passed a bill to establish a University named "Ghazi Khan University". A Medical College is estblised and its classes are started in 2010 at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur. At present, the Khosa Family is in full command in Punjab, Sardar Latif Khosa is Governor of Punjab and Sardar Zulfqar Khan Khosa is right hand of chief Minister of Punjab. The Indus University has been established by private sector. It is dedicated to quality education, and organizes International Conferences and Seminars on regular basis. They are also going to link with universities of other countries. Negotiation is underway with universities in the U.S.A. and we hope very soon an MOU will be signed with universities of the U.S.A. for awarding joint degree programs, in an attempt to create an atmosphere of mutual understanding among different cultures and countries to make this world healthier, safer and more tolerant place. For the needs of remote area students, INDUS has its own buses to facilitate the transport availability for the students. Indus has a library which contains all disciplines' books, such as IT, Management Sciences, Economics, Journalism and Mass Communication. Our Computer Lab has a modern computer system and internet connectivity. Indus aims to give a complete knowledge of IT to all students
