FADE IN: INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY A MAN, 20s, sits alone in the room, deep in thought. Holding a cracked picture frame of a beautiful looking girl, he looks very lonesome and depressed. After giving a sigh, the man puts the picture down and gets up. He then walks into another room. INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUED The Man is now sitting in front of his bedroom window, gazing out at the surrounding neighborhood scene. Bored and depressed, the Man looks around for any kind of sign. Any interesting thing he could watch to numb the pain he is feeling. After glancing around, sometihng finally catches his eye... EXT. LADY XS HOUSE - DAY Across the street, a WOMAN garbed in a white dress and a white sun hat goes about pasting old newspapers to her windows outside. The process is methodical yet graceful in how the woman goes about it. The woman does not show her face, but this does not matter. In an almost dreamlike quality, the Woman personifies beauty at its finest. Simultaneously mysterious and alluring. After a few minutes of pasting, the Woman pauses and turns to look up at the window where the Man is watching her. INT. BEDROOM The Man quickly ducks out of the way, making sure to close his window blinds. After a slight pause, the Man peeks between the blinds, watching the Woman with great curiosity. EXT. LADY XS HOUSE The Woman still searches around, knowing that the Man was just watching her. Shrugging her shoulders, she continues on with her work.

2. INT. BEDROOM The Man takes in the sight of the woman for a few more seconds before closing his makeshift peephole. Leaning back, the Man smiles to himself, wondering about who this curious girl is. EXT. NEIGHBORS HOUSE - MORNING The next day, the Man walks over to his next door neighbors house. Outside, the NEIGHBOR, 20s, is finishing up his lawn work. Before going inside however, he notices the Man approaching him and walks forward to greet him. NEIGHBOR (friendly) Well, hey there! So, what brings you out to the "Land of the Living"? The Neighbor gives a hearty laugh as he clasps the Mans hand. MAN Not much. I actually wanted to ask you a question regarding where the Reddings used to live. When did they move out? The Neighbor looks towards Lady Xs house, pondering on the Mans question. NEIGHBOR You know, I honestly dont remember them moving out. Mustve been when I was on my business trip. And of course, you wouldnt know seeing as all you do is hide in your house all day ever since Maria left you. The Neighbor stares intently at the house until a sly smile crosses his face. He turns his attention fully back to the Man. NEIGHBOR Oh, ho ho. You sly dog! I know why youre interested about the Redding place. Its about her, isnt it? "Lady X". Not a lot of us know too much about her. Must have moved in very recently. I cant help but say that she is quite the looker. You know what Im saying, right? (CONTINUED)

The Neighbor jokingly nudges the Man, who is visually annoyed at the Neighbors manner. After the nudging stops, the Man sheepsihly smiles. MAN All right, you caught me. that Im attracted to her physical way or anything. sort of... fascinates me. get to know her. Its not in a She just I want to

The Neighbor playfully slaps the Man on the arm and motions towards the house. NEIGHBOR Yeah! Go up to her and officially welcome her to the neighborhood. Be a nice guy! Actually, now that I mention it, we have a good housewarming gift you can give her. My mother-in-law gave us this dusty old crucifix for one of our anniversaries and its just lying up in the attic rotting. I dont know if this mysterious lady friend of yours is a religious type, but it doesnt hurt to try. Ill bring it over at the end of the day. MAN Ok, thanks. I really appreciate it man. The Man begins to walk off to his house while the Neighbor walks into his. INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT The Man is standing in front of a large mirror, checking out how he is poising himself. He speaks to the mirror, roleplaying in his head. MAN (to self) Hi. I couldnt help noticing you just got in the neighborhood. I just wanted to stop by and see if you needed anyth... The Man stops, detecting an obvious flaw in his approach. He continues on saying the phrase with many different inflections and approaches.

INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINUED The Man is sitting at the table, staring at the crucifix given to him by the Neighbor. He turns it in his hand, wondering how exactly he can give this as a housewarming gift to the Woman. With a look of disgust, he crosses the room and throws the Crucifix into the garbage. EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD - MORNING The Man is walking to his car, looking to go somewhere. As he pulls out of the driveway, he looks towards Lady Xs house. The house is deadly still. If it werent for his initial peeping at the Woman, the house would seem to be derelict for a couple of months now. After a few more minutes of staring, the Man drives off. INT. STORE - FLOWER SHOP SECTION The Man is prowling among the flowers in the section, looking for the right kind to give to the Woman. Finally, he spots them... Approaching a cash register, the man lays down a bundle of roses, and pulls out his wallet to pay for them. INT. BEDROOM - DUSK The Man, now decked in his finest clothes, puts the finishing touches on his slicked back hair. Taking a good final look in the mirror, the Man smiles. He then picks up the nearby bundle of roses and heads out of the bedroom. EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD - CONTINUED Night is steadily approaching as the Man makes his way to Lady Xs house. Unnervingly, none of the houses lghts are on. The Man gives a brief pause to this problem before shrugging it off and going on his way. Approaching the porch, he walks up to the door and knocks. The force of his knocks causes the already opened door to inch open a little. Worried, the Man looks around before pushing the door fully opened.

INT. LADY XS HOUSE From the inside, looking out, we see the man steadily inching himself into the house. From what little light the moon gives, we can tell that the house is totally trashed. The Man nervously cranes his neck before calling out, his voice an octave higher then usual. MAN (nervous) H-hello? With no immediate response being returned back, the Man inches into the house even more so. However, the Man stops as he steps into something sticky and sickly sounding. Lifting up his shoe, the Man focuses on what he stepped in before his face goes a complete ghostly white. The entire bottom half of the shoe is completely covered in semi-dry blood. Just then, a crashing noise erupts from deeper within the house. The Man sets his foot down immediately and cranes his neck forward, wanting to see whats going on inside the house. After a few moments, the man steps back a little, as a precaution. Suddenly, an unseen creature rushes the Man, who is now screaming in fear. The creature slams into the man knocking him onto his back. EXT. LADY XS HOUSE - PORCH - CONTINUED The Man, dazed, lies on his back. He tries to stumble to get up, but he falls back down instead. Regaining his senses, he looks into the darkness of the house and screams, seeing the unseen monster. The monster grabs the Man by his ankles and drags him into the darkness, wailing. After a few brief moments, the door suddenly slams shut on the outside world. SMASH TO BLACK. CREDITS.
