Uluru is a large rock formation located in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is famous for
its beautiful red colour, which changes at different times of the day, especially during
sunrise and sunset.

Uluru is a sacred site for the Anangu people, who are the traditional owners of the land.
They have lived in this area for thousands of years and have many stories and traditions
connected to Uluru.

Many visitors come to see Uluru each year. They can walk around the base of the rock or
take guided tours to learn more about its history and significance. The walk around the base
of Uluru is 9.4 kilometres.

In 1985, the Australian government returned Uluru to the Anangu people, and it is now part
of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Visitors are encouraged to respect the cultural
heritage of the site, and climbing Uluru is no longer permitted, as it is considered
disrespectful by the Anangu.
