##### DO NOT EXTRACT TO A WRITE-PROTECTED DIRECTORY
########################################
Do not extract to a write-protected directory. If you do, you will not be
able to
save, install games, or anything else. If you lose your data, that is your
fault.
Do not try to use Cemu from within the zip archive, you must extract it.
Absolutely DO NOT extract to:
- C:\Windows
- C:\Program Files
- C:\Program Files (x86)
- C:\Users\<You>\Downloads
- C:\Users\<You>\OneDrive
- C:\Users\<You>\OneDrive\Desktop
You may extract to:
- C:\Users\<You>\Desktop
- C:\Users\<You>\Documents
- C:\Users\<You>
- C:\Emulators\
- C:\
Alternatively you may extract to any extra Storage Device if you have one set
up.
Do not extract to a storage device that is only connected via USB.
Make sure the file path is not extremely long or Cemu may fail to find its
own files.

##
## Things to not do:
##
## - Do not rename or delete the [Games] folder.
## - Do not change [Game Paths] under Cemu's [General Settings].
##
## - Do not change the [MLC Path] under [General Settings], leave it at
[mlc01].
## - Do not delete or rename [mlc01], this is your System NAND.
##
## - Do not delete [keys.txt] (hidden file)
## - Do not delete [settings.xml]
## - Do not delete the [System Apps] folder unless you do not want them.
##
## - Do not touch any settings under [Debug] or [Logging]
## - Do not change the [Game Profile] settings unless explicitly required.

# General Setup: #
##################
First: Install the included [VC_redist.x64.exe]
If you do not have this installed, Cemu will not run.
+ Intro:
The latest Update for Breath of the Wild and its DLCs are already set.
The shaderCache is also set. A collection of Amiibo NFC Bins are
included;
they can be used with Cemu's NFC option while playing a game.
A few Custom Mods are included, these include a mod to bypass Motion
Controller
requirements from shrines. If you have a motion controller that works
you can
turn this mod off and play the vanilla version of the shrines. Of the
other
extra Custom Mods that you can turn on if you want, too.
GraphicPacks are already configured for an ideal "out-of-box"
experience.
You may increase the game's Display Resolution via
[Options -> GraphicPacks -> Breath of the Wild -> Graphics]
I would encourage you to get familiar with this menu and what the
settings
do so you may change them on your own.
To open a Graphic Pack's internal settings, click on an option's name
such
as [Graphics] and you will get more options on the right side of the
GraphicPack
window. Options can be changed but will not apply while the game is
running;
restart Cemu after making changes.
+ Enhancement:
I would encourage use of
[GraphicPacks > Breath of the Wild > Enhancements > Clarity]
while testing the available Presets. Serfrost's options are good. I
would also
encourage increasing the game's Display Resolution and Shadow
Resolution if your
GPU can handle it. Expect a performance hit for better visual quality.
Do not use settings marked as [Experimental] unless you accept the
possibility
of crashes, bugs, or bad performance. Do not ask for help if this
happens.
Ultrawide Display Support can be set by changing the [Graphics]
options' Aspect
Ratio. The HUD may be squished or stretched. You may try using the
included
"Alternative Ultrawide UI Fix" custom mod if the included Aspect Ratio
fixes are
not ideal to you; I suggest -do not- combine the HUD Fixes.
+ Controller:
- [Options -> Input Settings]
- [Controller 1]
- [Emulated Controller] -> [Wii U GamePad]
- [Controller] -> [API] -> [SDL Controller] -> Your controller
- [Profile] -> Type a profile name -> [Save] -> [Close]
! If your controller does not show up after selecting SDL
and clicking the next field, try XInput or DirectInput.
! If you would like to use Motion Controls you need:
- A motion-compatible controller
- Setting up the controller as SDL
- More information:
https://cemu.cfw.guide/controller-configuration.html
+ (Optional) Changing the in-game Controller UI:
Pig's Controller UI Pack v1.2.1 [EUR]
Cemu -> Options -> GraphicPacks ->
Breath of the Wild -> Custom Mods -> Controller UI
Instructions:
The different styles only change the ABXY layout, pick the one
you want.
ONLY ENABLE ONE AT A TIME. The mod will ONLY change the UI - you
will need
to map your controller in Cemu Input Settings to match the UI you
want.
If your controller is using the SDL API you should use the
[Standard] UI
(as otherwise, with the SDL API, you will be unable to manually
map your
buttons -- unless a new Cemu update changes this.) Use Xinput or
DirectInput
if you absolutely must remap your buttons to your liking for a
specific UI.
This image can help you map the buttons, you
will want to map so that the actions match:
https://imgur.com/a/kGVrunX
Preview images of different layouts, the only
things that will change are the ABXY buttons:

+ Overlay:
- You may configure the overlay (FPS, RAM, CPU, GPU) and other via
[Options > General Settings > Overlay]
+ Online Play:
- You must have a Wii U to play online. https://cemu.cfw.guide/online-
play.html
If you set up online play correctly you can then use the System Apps
included.
To do so, use Options > General Settings > Game Paths and add [System
Apps]
+ Extra:
- ShaderCache & VkPipeline Cache is included only for Breath of the
Wild [EUR].
- You can get more caches for other games here:
https://chriztr.github.io/cemu_shader_and_pipeline_caches/
- Extract the Transferable folder to your shaderCache folder.
- You can use [US] saves on the [EUR] game if you rename (or copy &
rename)
the [US] save's 101c9400 folder to 101c9500 for [EUR].
- You can use a Switch Save from Yuzu or Ryujinx if you convert it
with:

Updates from:
- Extract the new download over your Cemu installation, replace
all prompted files.
- https://github.com/cemu-project/Cemu/releases - You want the
windows-x64.zip
- Otherwise please check the main website:
+ You can update your GraphicPacks via
[Options > Graphic packs > Download latest community graphic packs]

* Troubleshooting: *
********************
Check the game's compatibility page: https://compat.cemu.info/
If Vulkan crashes & you're on an AMD Radeon iGPU with Switchable
Graphics (Laptop) see:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5182/~/unable-to-
launch-vulkan-apps%2Fgame-on-notebooks-with-amd-radeon-igpus
Try a full GPU Driver Clean & Full Reinstallation using Display Driver
Uninstaller (DDU):
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/DDU-Guide-Tutorial
Otherwise, try OpenGL if Vulkan is not working for you, expect less
than optimal performance.
You can review the Cemu Guide for extra information / FAQs:

As a last resort you may ask on Sin's server.
