PURPOSE & SCOPE RESPONSIBILITIES

❖ Internal Lab Officer.
attachment in every manufactured product.

PROCEDURE
❖ Button Pull Test should be done once per every three working hour with maintaining
record in Button Pull Test Report (QA/3/031).
❖ The frequency of test can be adjusted according to customer’s requirement.
❖ A minimum of two sample should be tested from each button attaching machine of every
line.
❖ The check can be carried out with a mock up (same style/same construction fabric) rather
than an actual bulk garment to avoid shortages to the order. The mock up must be made
under bulk conditions using bulk machines of the relevant line.
❖ Buttons pull test must cover all different locations of attachment, e.g. placket, pocket,
collar, cuff, spare buttons, epaulettes etc., as different locations can have different results
and different reasons in case of a fail.
❖ Button pull test record must be provided with the seal and signature of internal lab
officer.
❖ If the needle or sewing thread breaks of any machine, apart from the routine test, a pull
test should be done immediately for that machine.
❖ The first check of any date should be done at the beginning of the work of that day.
❖ During bobbin run out, last attached button should be removed from garment and after
refill bobbin, attach two button on Bingo Card (QA/3/031) to ensure the secure
attachment.
❖ If results are found below the requirement, production should be stopped immediately,
stock should be checked that was done in the last 03 hours since the last successful
check.
❖ If original garment is used for test then it should be removed from the bulk garments
flow and it should be ensured that, it won’t get mixed into bulk production by accident.
❖ The pull test machines must be calibrated before expire the date of last calibration, copy
of calibration certificate should be displayed near the machine.
Note: The SOP of the Button Pull Test must be displayed near the machine.
