PURPOSE
To determine the amount of glitter loss from the garment
EQUIPMENT
1) Pressure sensitive tape 25 mm wide, reference 3M 853
TEST SPECIMEN
3 specimens from different sizes or smallest size of the garment or can be performed 3 times on the same
garment
METHOD
1) Place the garment vertically to the box with your two hands. One hand should hold the garment from
the middle. The lower part of the garment should be inside the box; in order to avoid getting different
places.

2) With you other hand pull the hand down while hold tight around the garment. Repeat it 10 times.
6) Try to gather all glitter by using the same tape 10 times from the same direction through the middle of
the box

8) Before the application make sure the box is cleaned and has no glitter lefties from the existing test
application
RESULTS
The level of glitter loss is assessed against below photographic standards. Result pictures of all tested
Grade 4 No glitter OK

1. Wicking – Vertical Effective Until:

PURPOSE
To measure the wicking properties of a product which is labelled with the Quick Dry function.
EQUIPMENT
• 5 rods or pens
• 5 glass bowls
• 5 clips or pins
• Distilled water, room temperature
• Stopwatch or suitable timer
• Ruler
TEST SPECIMEN
5 specimens in each direction, all measuring 200mm x 25mm.
METHOD
1. Fold one end of the specimen and secure it on a rod or pen using a needle or a clip.
2. Place the rod over the opening of a glass bowl so the specimen hangs in the bowl without touching the
bottom.
3. Fill the bowl with water till the specimen is immersed 20 mm in the water.
4. Leave the specimen for 30 minutes.
5. After 30 minutes measure how far the water has moved vertically, starting 20 mm from the edge (The point
which was the starting point for the wicking).
RESULTS
The average result from the 5 specimens is the final result. Tested specimens shall be evaluated for 30 mins.
Report the wicking height at the end of 30 mins.
NOTE
If reaching the requirement before 30 minutes, it is ok to stop the test and report the result as passed
