Bra Cross Grading is the process of developing different bra sizes from a base size (usually a sample
size) by adjusting measurements to create new sizes across band and cup sizes.
Here is a chart showing bra cross grading — how the band and cup sizes increase or decrease in steps,
while maintaining the correct fit and proportions.
🟣 Bra Cross Grading Chart (Size Progression Table)
Band Size ↓ / Cup Size → A B C D DD/E DDD/F G H
30 30A 30B 30C 30D 30DD 30F 30G 30H
32 32A 32B 32C 32D 32DD 32F 32G 32H

Sister Sizes (Very important in cross grading)
Bras that have different band and cup sizes but same cup volume.
Base Size Sister Sizes
34C 32D, 36B
32D 30DD, 34C
36B 34C, 38A
30DD 28E, 32D
Explanation:
When you go down a band size, you go up a cup to keep same volume.
When you go up a band size, go down a cup.
How Cross Grading Works in Garment Industry:
1. Base Size Example: 34B
2. Band Grading: Add or subtract 2 inches in band for each size (e.g., 32B or 36B)
3. Cup Grading: Add ~1" bust circumference for each cup (B → C → D...)
Cup Volume Formula:
Cup volume increases approximately 1 inch per cup size.
Cross Grading Key Points:
Grading Area Increment Example
Band (underbust) ±2" per size (e.g., 32 → 34)
Bust (overbust) ±1" per cup (e.g., B → C)
Strap Length Longer for larger sizes
Wire Size Wider for larger cups
