Technical Query (TQ)

To: [Client Name / Client Engineering Contact]

From: [Your Company Name / Engineering Team]
Project: [Project Name or Number]
TQ No.: [Unique Query Number, e.g., TQ-001-ENG]
Date: 25-07-2025

Subject: [Brief Title of the Query]

Description of Query:
Clearly describe the technical issue, uncertainty, or deviation. Mention drawing/document
reference, section, clause, or specification that is in question.

Example:
We refer to P&ID No. XYZ-1234, Line No. 1501-G-001. The spec mentions use of Class 150#

acceptable or if we should upgrade.

Background / Justification:
Explain why the query is being raised — any ambiguity, deviation from standard,
discrepancy, or missing information.

Example:
As per process data sheet, the line pressure exceeds the design limit of Class 150# valves.
To avoid non-compliance and ensure safety, clarification is required.

Requested Clarification / Client Action:

Clearly mention what you need from the client — approval, technical confirmation, or
direction.

Example:
Kindly confirm if the valve class shall be upgraded to 300# or provide your
recommendation.
